I have alot of elkSP12F around my house. Recently I added the elk-m1twa module to my m1gold. I searched the internet and discovered that elk has a flush mount speaker/mic part wnose construction is similar to that of SP12F. I was just wondering if anyone has modified the SP12F by adding the electret condenser mic to it (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FHK1BFQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I'm thinking about giving it a try. I think it will be cheaper than buying a $25 mic/speaker combo. And moreover, I don't see it in ELKproducts 2016 catalog.

The circuit board for the mic is mounted to the back of the speaker magnet with some double-sided tape. The mic is press-fit into the round  plastic "tube" next to the speaker.
