Hi all,

purchased one of these and the instructions are not clear on wiring. wondering if anyone else is using this one. I also own 2 5625-W and wired them right up. The instructions are exactly the same but the 20 has 2 less contacts.

Thanks for any help!

Can you be a little more specific? What part of the instructions are causing difficulty? How did you connect the 5625-W?

I have installed several 5625-w contacts and the instructions cover both models however, the 5620-w is missing 3 contacts. The NO, TAMP and TAMP. The 5620 still has COM, NC, -GND and +12v.

to wire the 5625 I short the 2 TAMP connections and wire COM and NO to the alarm system and set it up as normally closed circuit.

With the 5620 I wired COM and NC and marked as normally closed but it does not work.

Shorting the tamper connections does nothing. On the 5625-W, you should have connected to COM and NC if you want to use the NC zone type. Ditto for the 5620-W, connect to COM and NC and use the NC zone type.

Are you sure you have power on the 5625-W? It really passes the End User Test?

You didn't say anything about the magnet. Can you confirm that it's properly positioned for both?

sorry figured it out, NC is normally closed and NO is normally open.

Per the instructions you short the 2 TAMP connections, so on the 5625, I did and yes, when I open the window on a 5625, it shows violated, close it and it shows normal (shorted).

The contact side of the 5625 works just fine. I have not tested the glassbreak because i do not have a glassbreak tester.

From the installation instructions:

End-User Test
Simply hand clap within 3' (1m) of the sensor and the LED will
flash quickly indicating the sensor is powered and functioning
properly.

Honestly, I think you have a problem with power on the 5625-W and the 5620-W. Why is it so difficult getting you to check it?

Hi Sorry, I am not running power to them. The instructions do not show that power is a requirement. I would like to run them on a normally closed setup.

Does that help?

HUH?? The datasheet and instruction manual both indicate the power requirement... How do you expect the unit to function with no power????
