Take a look at http://www.bitwisecontrols.com/givingback.php . I wish all corporate entities were this willing to "give back". Especially these days when the scumbags in NY and Washington just want more. I met with Lance today and I can say that one, Bitwise Controls makes one hell of a product (think GC-100 on steroids x infinity) and two, the company's culture is the real deal. This isn't marketing fluff. If anyone has any ideas that would apply on the CO Frontrange, I will happily donate my time (and as much other gear as I can scrounge) to apply. I'm inspired to be a part of this program. Any thoughts? Ideas? Comments?

That is very nice of them. I am starting a non-profit organization to educate community members in the areas of science and technology. I can attest that donations like this really go a long way. I also would like to see more HA companies make a statement on their website if they are willing to grant donations. I know a lot of companies don't advertise it but if asked they would still help out if they thought the organization was in-line with something that touches their hearts.

Anthony,

I keep an eye out for projects that would fit this. You can also count me in to help if you come up with any. I was very inspired by the project that ELK, SetNet and others put together for Steve Smith to help him maintain some independence with ALS.

Hey Scott, isn't it great that we really could "give back". I can pull a few strings and I'll start to put something together. Between us, we could probably develop something very useful for some one who could use some help. Do you still have the RA starter pack you were attempting to sell? Want to write it off? I have some pretty good "bits" as well and I know I could get my hands on an OPII or Elk M1. I have one Somfy shade, maybe some Russound gear, a Convergent Living touch screen, etc... I'll work on some speakers and a display donation. Anything else? Now we need to determine a beneficiary. My heart bleeds for substance abuse recovery programs, environmental sustainability, the poor/less fortunate. I know Lance at Bitwise would love to benefit disabled veterans. Any cause d'jour on your heart?

If there is anything you need, just post here, almost every manufacturer, major vendors and kind hearted people visit this site on a regular basis :)

What a cool idea Anthony! I'm behind you 100% and like Dan said, there are some great people in this business that I bet would help.

Yes, I still have the RA Starter package and would be happy to include it in in the project. Any of the causes you mentioned are certainly worthwhile. I suppose I have a soft spot for the disabled in general. My Grandmother had Muscular Dystrophy, man would lighting control have improved her life.

Let me know if you come up with something, and I'll do the same.
