Hello World!

My name is Tom and I live in Minneapolis, MN. My hobbies include home automation (duh), computers, and some electronics. I currently roll with SageTV and 2 HD-200 Extenders, a few Insteon modules (outside lights, entry way, bedroom lights) and too many computers. I use Solaris, SuSE, and Windows XP as operating systems - they each have their strong points, so why not use them all!? I have a Brultech 1240 on the way that I can't wait to hook up. I also intend to connect gas and water consumption to the Brultech or some other monitoring devices. I also work for a commercial HVAC automation company (think County/Schools/Data Centers).

Hi Tom,

I'm from across the river in St. Paul, Como Park area. I've been into HA since 2001 and have most of the lights, motor, etc controllable remotely. I'm lucky in that I still have all X-10 stuff and have over 99% reliability. A few filters and an active signal amplifier does the trick for me so far. I also have cameras and a weather station, so I have plenty to play with.
