Just cancelled my monthly security monitoring for my ElkM1. Can I disable their remote access?

It was setup a while ago, but looking through my router port forwarding I have 2601 and 2101 labeled as security. I know Homeseer is using 2101 for automaton communication...should I just disable 2601? I have ElkRp installed on my computer, but I can't remember using it or even how to connect. I'm probably being paranoid and thinking I have to block them is kinda crazy...

You need to keep at least one port open if you access your system from outside the gateway. As an example, I use Ekeypad to access the elk from my Iphone and it requires that one port be open to get through the router/gateway. If you can determine which port the monitoring system was using and then determine that nothing else is using the same port then you can stop forwarding it in the router.

XEP requires something like 4 ports open to the outside world, depending on what is being used (email, etc.) since the webserver is no longer supported, port 80 can be closed. Otherwise, the only item that should be open is the secure port.

As far as what can be done from that port, that depends on the RP code (if changed) and then the only item up for grabs is what can be performed to the XEP itself, which is pretty limited from my memory, assuming it can be accessed.
