OmniProII and Invisible Fence Monitoring

Has anybody been successful at utilizing their OmniproII (or other automation system) to monitor the status of their dog invisible fence and report the status?

Thanks for feedback.

What kind of output does the fence device offer?  Dry contacts?  LEDs?  Probably have a couple of options, we just need the make/model.

It is an Invisible Fence Brand ICT-801.  The manual indication to verify status is a green LED flashes once every 4 seconds.  The only outputs are the loop connectors for the wire itself which carries a low voltage signal.  The pdf manual can be located by googling "800installation.pdf invisible fence" and clicking the first link.

There is an audio speaker that will give an indication of a breach.  It might be possible for that to trigger a contact closure via a voltage comparator and transistor drive to a relay.

When our portal is backup you can view the schematic I used for monitoring the Dexcom diabetes monitor.  Basically you may be able to have the speaker output trigger the voltage comparator in lieu of the piezo vibration detector used in that scenario.

Thanks for th information.  Do you have any diagrams or links to more information?  Also, I read this HOW TO:
http://cocoontech.com/forums/page/articles/_/tutorials/home-automation-tutorials/how-to-remotely-monitor-an-appliance-r406 and may be able to use a solution similar as the ICT-801 has an LED that blinks once every 4 seconds when properly working.

Also, would I be able to just insert a contact closure to read the voltage across the loop itself?

As an FYI, I have full access between the ICT-801 and OPII so wires, etc won't be an issue.  I'd love to take pictures and write an overview of working solution for you to use on the site if we get working.

Thanks.
