Output driving a strobe not working

This is waaaay too simple to be failing ...

The circuit is composed of the following items connected in series:
12VDC voltage source (battery)
Output 16 acting as a switch
Strobe Light

Close Output 16 and the strobe should activate. If it does not, then either the circuit is not as described, the strobe's polarity is reversed, the battery is wonky, there's a faulty wire, or all of the above.
I believe that output16 is an active voltage output designed to directly drive a small load under 50 mA. It is not designed to have an external power source. In out words, output 16 is not a relay, so it cannot switch power unless you add a relay.

... output 16 is not a relay, so it cannot switch power unless you add a relay. ...

You are absolutely correct!

"Output 16", in my little world, does have a relay. I keep forgetting that I have an M1XOVR and an M1RB connected to my M1 ... duh!

The super bright LED's build up quite a bit of heat. It may have a thermal shutdown device to protect the unit from overheating.

The ELK-SL1 flashed for almost two years continuously in our testing. All strobes degrade with usage and finally give out due to the electrodes wearing out, but for alarm use, they appear to last forever in occasional usage.
