New version of PFSense + came out this morning. Will share my experience here. Currently running three boxes here with PFSense +.
(Jetway and Qotom mini multiple port boxes). Last year moved rack (server rack) installed boxes to telco wall and switched / upgraded GPS / TTS hardware (Sure to generic GPS).
The upgrade from PFSense CE to PFSense + last year was painless. PFSense + offers a bit more features that PFSense CE.
Note that PFSense + is free and offers a bit more than PFSense CE.
Tips on Upgrading
Did see a PHP error when upgrading. Reading some old posts the error is typically when upgraded BSD and reading to ignore error. I tried to post it here and it is too long. All is fine as of Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Tips on Upgrading
- Create a backup before you upgrade, or a snapshot if it is a VM.
- Do not update packages before upgrading. Remove all packages or update packages after the upgrade.
- The upgrade will generally take 10 to 30 minutes. Maintain power to your appliance while it is in progress.
- Track the progress of the upgrade from your firewall console.
