Review of Nokia OS2008 for N800/N810

Very nice.
I have a 700 I use as a XLobby client. Today, I got an email from buy.com offering 800s well below US$200. Not ready to replace yet so didn't shop around.

Is this one of the most inexpensive ways to get cqc on a portable touchscreen device? Or are their other options?

bump.

I'm looking to spend some XMas money and wondering if the Nokia N800 would be one of the most cost effective ways to get a touch screen to work with CQC reliably?

Check the CQC forum - i'm pretty sure the folks that use them (jkmonroe/etc) are pretty happy with them. For me, the physical size is a little too small.

I believe my PPC is considerabgly smaller and more manageable.

I doubt you'll be sticking the NOKIA in your pocket..

If CQC is accessed via a "normal" web page these will work just fine. There's also the new iTouch which has a really nice browser interface and very intuitive. It's a bit small for older eyes but a single click and the page zooms in nicely. The only thing I've seen that doesn't work on the iTouchs is java applets for my cameras.

Actually, most CQC'ers end up using RDP with these as they can build screens much nicer than what IE can render using the regular Interface Viewer.

here's one thread about the N800
