With all the cheap WiFi enabled remote controlled toys with cameras that store pre-programmed paths, I thought it'd be neat to integrate one or more into my system (one for the upper level and one for the lower level).
Some requirements:
1. An open API would be nice. However, it's easy for me to integrate if there are predefined commands accessed via URLs (e.g. accessible with an HTTPGet), tcp or udp socket, etc... Basically if there's a way it can talk to a PC that's been figured out and documented by someone already, that's a huge plus.
2. The unit must reliably dock for automatic charging as needed.
3. Decent image quality is a must.
4. Two way audio support would be great.
5. Each toy must support at least 6 paths.
6. I'd prefer a toy that was solidly built.
Basic idea:
If I'm not at home and motion is sensed (and the required doors for the particular path are all open), my HA system would tell the rover to go to the room where motion was sensed and email me a picture from a predefined location. I could then take manual control of the rover and look around with my android smart phone after receiving the email if I wanted.
