TCPIP Video Camera Servers

What is anybody who has IP security cameras doing for video storage / playback? I have cameras that can upload to FTP servers but these simply send thousands of individual .jpg files - this of course is not very friendly on its own. I think they are toshiba wk-ib model.

S0 - in a purely IP environment, without analog CCTV what is a good product? Of course it would also be cool to be able to stream to hand held touch screen devices at a later date...

Thanks

Any NVR software that supports your cameras is workable. Verint, Milestone, OnSSI.

I myself perfer hybrid systems that can do both analog and IP well. Obviously the LVS defender and sentienl, ExaqVision, Nuuo.

i'm currently using zoneminder on a linux system.

I'm also using ZoneMinder. It's really amazing - you can use a LiveCD to try it out and be up and running within minutes. I was blown away at how really well polished it is. I have a mix of analog and IP cameras going to it and it handles it all with flying colors.

Thanks guys - I am downloading the LiveCD now. If this thing works well for me, what would you suggest for the permanent Linux install?

Does anybody know which of the cheapie CCTV PCI cards work with Zoneminder? Anyone with experience?

I'm not sure I will use the CCTV, but I inherited some cameras, and thought I'd hook them up to a PC and give Zoneminder a shot.

Thanks,
Rob

It's listed on their website.

All software encoders and no MPEG4 cameras, can do megapixel though.
I went through their website, and they list the chipsets in the generics, BT878,BT8x8, that are supported, but generally the ebay cards don't list the chipsets. I did find a pico2000 on ebay, bur was wondering about some of the other generics.
