Thoughts on this camera system?

Have a friend that is thinking of putting Samsung SDE120 in his small store for security. He likes the web access and email capabilities. Sams has them for about $550. Includes 2 indoor color and 2 night/IR cameras. He is wanting just indoor I think. Is also planning to put in a simple alarm system as well.

I would like to set up some simple off site storage in case the base is stolen but of course will try to hide it.

I am thinking of doing a zoneminder system for home. I thought briefly about doing zoneminder for this but decided against that as it might take more adjusting and fiddling than practical. At home that would be easy to do over time.

Just wanting to get some feedback from others. Thanks.

you can't go wrong with samsung
this is a nice package and well priced
I have it at my SAMs club too but didnt get it because my home is pre wired for network cameras

none that's the funny part
the ones I want are beyond my reach now
in my research I have found that Axis and Vivotek are the most capable and widely supported by software developers when it comes to software
but they are expensive.
surveillance is really another beast and there are so many variables and it seems like you have to compromise between features and quality vs price.
there is a little camera called the Y-cam for the price it seems very capable I have seen video feeds from people that have them and I was impressed, not a professional camera but for the average home user it's a great choice
