VRC0P+3 using Evolve LOM-15 Security Beaming and Kwikset locks

I purchased one of the http://www.eguestcontrols.com/products/lighting-devices/lom-15/ Z-Wave receptacle to use instead of VRP03+3 plugin dimmer. This product indicates it supports security beaming, so I thought I would give it try. Leviton RFIT will include device and can be controlled by VRC0P+3.

I reset/rebuilt my VRC0P+3 in order to get multiple Kwikset locks working. I believe the receptacle was instrumental in getting outside lock working. I could never get outside lock working before (distance problem). The lom-15 is most likely acting as a security slave router.

Interesting. I have 3 Kwikset ZWave locks in two locations which are about 50 feet away from each other in my house. I tried using an LDM-15 in between both locations with a Vera3 (as primary controller) and the connection is still unreliable. I will try an LOM-15 to see if things get better.

Since dual Z-Wave lock control just started working, I will have to see if remote lock can be reliably manipulated. The remote lock previous didn’t work at all. It does take 15-20 seconds to close both locks. I do like the aesthetics of outlets verses plugins. I don't know if a LOM-15 will be any better.

One of the annoying weakness of Z-Wave IMHO is device troubleshooting. Even with Leviton RFIT “diagnostics” Test Signal/Route/Link functions, it’s not absolutely clear if lock (or any device) is not working because of routing, distance, or device. There’s no such thing as tracert. There no way for primary controller to send button presses to a secondary controller without manually walking up/down stairs to manually push the button.
