What wire size to connect ELK-SP12F to ELK M1

I plan to have my KP2's flushmounted in the rececessed back boxes. From what i understand these will take a ELK-SP12F speaker inside the backbox (with magnet protruding from the back but it shoudl still fit in a 2x4 stud cavity).

I had cat5 pre-wired for the keypad but didn't realized the KP2 keypads don't have speakers in them.

What size wire do i need to connect to the ELK-SP12F? Can i used the unused pair in the cat5 and just not terminate that pair at the DBH side?

I previously offered up the idea of using the DBH spare conenctors to connect to the speakers, but didn't get much response either way if that was doable or not. To me using the unused cat5 pair which on the DBH apears to be paralled between all the ports would be perfect if it doesnt blow anything up. (Blew i ELK control up once, that was costly enough for now).

How much current would a 32 ohm 12 watt speaker draw and does this exceed cat5 wire size?

Comments much appreciated.

You could probably use what ever you wanted, 18-2, 16-2, etc.

I wouldn't suggest using an extra pair in the CAT5 data bus wiring, though. I would run a separate cable for the speaker.

Is the current so low that it just doesnt matter?

I don't really have 18-2 or anything larger available at the moment.

I suppose i could run a cat5 and join 2 x 4 conductors, I'd rather do it the right way and don't mind buying the wire, but i don't knwo what to buy.

The same goes for my RT1, I didn't really realize, but i only have 22-4 running to it..is that ok? Actually I have 2 22-4 wires running to the outside siren location and i need to connect RT1, tamper and SL1A. The strobe will take 2 conductors and the tamper will take 2 so I can double up on the 22 guage for the speaker. Would that be ok? Is the strobe happy with 22guage? I believe the draw on the strobe is not much (210ma at 12V).
