Where to buy Sage Wireless MVP

Hi All.

sagetv.com does not have the 'buy' options next to any of the media extender (wired sd, wired hd, wireless sd).

Where can i buy a wireless extended? I can find them directly from haupage.com but then the package does not include the sage license.

Does sage not sell these things directly or are they just sold out?

Any suggestions?

They're sold out, huge run in the past month given all the press they've gotten lately. Wait for them to get back into stock.

BTW, wireless sucks, i have one. You're much better off with a wired extender, and a wireless bridge.

Stay FAR away from the wireless MVP. Spent way too many hours pulling my hair out...they don't work well with Sage MOST of the time. Go wired (I ended up running wire to my "wireless" MVP) or forget it.

Ah to think of the money they are loosing by not having this hardware in stock. Is this the norm at Sage or an over site on their part?

It really wouldn't surprise me if they ditch all their hardware sales aside from the HD Extender, most people buy their MVPs elsewhere.

It also wouldn't be a surprise if they intentionally never restock the wireless MVP, the way the MVP boots is pretty unstable across wireless connections and they have no control of that. As was mentioned though you can use a wireless bridge as it's connection and error handing it far superior to that inside the wMVP.

Yea, I got on that list about 3 weeks ago so I hope some are still available when they finally do come in.

IIRC, they're fixing the "IR plastic plate is too thick to reliably receive signals" issue, which might be the holdup.

If i buy the wired MVP (ok..i wont be trying the wireless) then can i buy it from haupage.com ? WHat do i need to do to get it working with Sage?

Right now I would say buy it from PCAlchemy.com and all you need is the placeshifter/extender license to use it with SageTV.

There is no difference in SageTV SD extender and the generic Hauppauge MVP, the other OEM versions can vary some.
