10 Mbps Wi-fi Bridge

A while ago there was a thread about Wi-Fi bridges that were compatible with the 10Mbps WC Ethernet interface (turns out the Vonets unit is not). CAI posted one that was compatible but I can't seem to find the thread.

I may be starting yet another WC project and want to use Wi-Fi so I don't have to string more cable.

Do you want to connect your wc to your LAN without using cables?

If so, use ubiquity radios, it's very low cost and easy to setup. Only 2 x nanostation loco m2 can make a bridge up to KM. Depend of the noise and a lot of things but it's very powerfull for the price!

Most full 4 port routers with bridge mode will be compatible.  Travel routers such as mwr102 and wr702n.

Didn't know the model number offhand, but I guess it's the WR702N that I'm a fan of too - I've used them a few times for things like cameras or other gear that's not Wifi but needs to be - they're very reliable and cheap - plus powered by USB which makes them flexible.

Work2Play is correct.  We tested that TL-WR702N and working well.  It is $19 each including shipping.
Once you configured WC on your network,  take this little device and configure it as a bridge with your network wifi credentials. then move WC board into this wifi bridge box.  Your WC board is on the network through wifi.

About wifi router, the new wireless AC protocol based wifi router works better when a lot of different wifi device on the network.  We noticed wireless-N based wifi router could have hick-up when different devices start streaming over internet. Wireless-AC router seems a lot smoother.  If you are in process of selecting one, pick one DD-WRT supports so that you can have stunnel enabled. In that way, you can configure stunnel in that wifi router, allow WC8 board sending email to gmail account.

Thanks all, the TP-Link looks like a good match for what I need to do. We have an AP upstairs so all I need is the cheap client Wi-Fi device for a WC in the basement.

Hi folks,

Just to add to this post, I now have my WC8 running using the TL-WA801ND wireless N access point. I have it set in client mode. Sitting on my couch in the den I can access the WC from my ipad via the FIOS Actiontech main wireless router. Seems to be working fine.
