ShatterPoint 5625 combo magnetic and glassbreak sensor

Hi All, I have been using 2 of these sensors just with the magnetic side of this sensor for the last 4 years but finally got around to hooking up the power to enable the glassbreak side but it's a no go. Does anyone else have any knowledge of this sensor and using with an Elk system?

I have attached a pdf of the sensor for info. These are being used in basement windows by the way.

Or is there a similar sensor available that works with Elk systems?

There is nothing special about the sensor with respect to using it with the M1.  It just opens the NC contact when it detects an event.

Can you be more specific on what you mean by "no go?"

What type of door or window do you have the sensor mounted on?   Is it mounted on the frame, or the interior of the window?   Is it screwed to the frame, or mounted with tape?

How are you testing it?

Have you checked to see if it is really getting power?

When you first apply power, does the LED light up and then go out?

Since you say that previously you were using the unit without power, I'm guessing you probably had things wired to the NO terminal.   Do you still have it connected that way, or did you change over to the NC terminal?

I put 12 volt power to the sensor and now the magnetic sensor does not work. I tried it both on the NO as well as the nc terminal. Frankly the wiring diagram is near useless to me. It does not even show 4 wire wiring just 2. It's on a standard basement window. It is mounted with tape. The magnetic sensor worked fine when I just connected to No and comm.

See below the wiring diagram

You should be using the COM and NC terminals, and have the panel configured for a NC zone.

With power applied to the sensor, and the door/window closed, does the M1 show the zone as being secure?

NC circuit changes to continuity between C and NO upon alarm condition.

Check your wiring.

The Sentrol shatterswitches (multiple flavors) also sometimes had a dipswitch or jumper to enable to contact loop as well.

Thank you, I did this and now it is working. I was hoping it was not that difficult.
