Thinking About Getting A Managed Switch

I just migrated from Netgear (a Cisco brand) unmanaged to Ubiquiti managed. I like that I can see what my network's doing, even from work, and the cloudkey offers simple network management from anywhere, with very granular control.   A couple of thoughts: 1) If you try to buy the cheapest...

    Omnipro and UPB links

I have recently noticed a new problem with my Omnipro II detecting UPB links triggered by UPB switches.   I have several UPB switches that activate or deactivate UPB links which are (used to be) detected by my Omnipro. Some of them I use as timers, having the UPB link trigger a flag in the...

    Email notifier board

When I first started working on the OmniPro, my first move was to take out the Leviton can and replace it with this. Size is less of an issue now. I just got my first Raspberry Pi, and am looking for automation based stuff I can do on it (in addition to Pi Hole). I have been planning to run...

    Email notifier board

Hi Pete,    I'm not ready to spring for Homeseer yet, and just getting my OP2 / UPB up to snuff with installing a bunch of UPB switches, room controllers, and automating the pool pumps etc. Still, I'm curious how the referenced software talks to the OP2. Is everything serial communications? It...

NQ Link - Android App for OmniPro II

    Thanks, works very well indeed.

Adding Audio Source to Russound CAV6.7

Nope, all you have to do is make sure the switch on the front of the CAV (behind the removable panel) indicates the DB9 port (front or back) you want to use. Once you get serial communications going on your PC, you're mostly there.

Adding Audio Source to Russound CAV6.7

You can edit the setup of your Russound with a piece of software called PC Power Tool, which will interface with your Russound via a serial cable (DB9 to DB9). The software isn't hard to use, and when you change the name of the source in the CAV it will show up on the display of your UNO-S2...

NQ Link - Android App for OmniPro II

Hello LQtechvn,    Can you please briefly explain the procedure to transfer information to other devices over WiFi?    Also, would it be possible to add Russound audio integration?

    Simple pool control?

I can't help but reply to this topic because I have finished this project in the last month. I now control my 3 pool pumps with HAI 35A00-3 UPB non-dimmer switches, and automate them with my OmniPro.   My first attempt used Omron G7L-BUBJ DPST general purpose relays purchased from Mouser...

Recommended Sensors & Outputs for OP2

Sorry for the slow response. I am using all of these with my OmniPro 2.  For motion I'm using Risco iWISE DualTech PIR Sensors with ACT. http://www.homecontrols.com/Risco-iWISE-DualTech-PIR-Sensor-with-ACT Also for motion I have Visonic Next K9-85, which are at best a very basic inexpensive...

Serial expansion on older OmniPro II - Need 4th serial port

I'm in a similar situation, I have an older OP2 with 3 serial ports, and need to add one port, although I'd prefer to add 2. I contacted HAI, but unsurprisingly they said there was no upgrade program.   I know I can add two 10A17s, but I can't help noticing the pads for the two extra serial...

omnipro 2/russound link - serial over ethernet?

Probably the best way to frame this question would be to say what I have, and what I am trying to do, then ask if it can be done. I don't know a lot about serial communications, so I have to ask.   I have one CAV66 and one OP2, and one serial cable between them. My OP2 is the old style with 3...

    Outdoor UNO-S2

Interesting. I saw a "Russound" single gang enclosure somewhere which looks very similar, but hadn't found the dual gang enclosure. The clear cover probably doesn't provide enough sun resistance for me, I get full summer afternoon sun, I'm sure the controller will discolor pretty quickly.

CAV 6.6 with multiple speakers per zone

After listening to the amplified zone in comparison to the non-amplified zones, it seems clear to me that the amplified zone sounds noticeably better. Whether the amplifier in the CAV is damaged by the lower impedance is still unclear, but it would seem unlikely considering the previous owner...
