First a question - have you considered selling your business instead of just closing it? website, board designs, etc?
I've been troubleshooting my anemometer boards again and am trying to make sense of the onewireviewer readings. Is VDD A/D channel 0 and VAD A/D channel 1?

Hello all.
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience using power over ethernet as a power source for any of the 1wire sensors. The power supplies I usually use are around 15v but several inexpensive POE splitters such as trendnet TPE-104s (on amazon for 20) provide 12v. I would think this...

In trying to get this sensor running I see now that it is a custom chip. I use xapmcs1wire which is built on top of the open source owapi driver. Are you familiar with anyone developing an update to owapi to interface with this board? I'm not sure exactly what will be involved in...
We are in our first electrical storm since I installed the lightning detector. It sat at 0 for about 4 days (no false strikes) and I've just counted up to 12 strikes in 20 min. The ground I have is 'sub par' but it seems to be working just fine.
I have a question - this is a dual channel...

I've also set up the 1st anemometer board I had go bad. This is on a spare hub I have on a very short cable. The 2nd voltage is that same 10.23 although the first voltage is right at 4.93. I'm providing this as an additional data point - I'm not trying to get this one to work, just...
Eric:
I pulled off the inspeed sensor wires and also the Temp/Humidity/Solar - isolating this board. You can see I still have an anomolous voltage reading.... Thanks again for your help - any thoughts on where this is coming from? The actual voltage out of the 5v line is still 4.92...

Eric:
I confirmed that the voltage on the screw terminals is 4.92 - what you would expect. I've attached a screen shot from onewireviewer just to confirm what I'm seeing. It would appear that I've got a bad anemometer board doesn't it. My question since I've had 2 go bad in this...
Eric:
I use Michael McSharry's xapmcs1wire to interface into homeseer -the data line above is from that program's diagnostics. regarding the voltage readings, 10.23 is channel 0, 2.4 is channel 1 and 0 is channel 2. This board is connected to an inspeed. The other new board is connected to...

I've got two wind speed/wind direction setups going. On the new one I have a similar problem - it stops reading occassionally. On my older unit (connected to inspeed) take a look at the data I'm getting
Port=COM3:B900000008693E1F:1 Address=B4000000E74F5626 Family=DS2438...

I've got the Wind Speed & Direction sensor board connected to the Inspeed hardware. I've replaced the controller once because the direction stopped reading - I also noted the temp on that one that failed was stuck at 0 C. So now on my 2nd version I am getting a similar failure - the...
Hello:
I'm confused from the forum whether or not I need to enable or disable the onboard voltage regulator if I am powering my Temp/Humidity/Solar sensor from the 6 Channel hub. Can anyone clarify - does injected power count as 'external'?
Thanks
Ken
So it appears that removing that capacitor has really helped. I'm at 2 weeks now. Given the MTBR was long before I can't be certain, but this is the first time I've ever gone 2 weeks - so I'm cautiously optimistic!

After the failure occurred I switched to the 1wire viewer. I was able to successfully see the direction sensor but I noted some interesting behavior I want to ask about. Sorry this is a 1wire basics question. When I was polling in 1wire viewer at 30 seconds with the one channel active...

I've had the anemometer board in place over a year. It is in a weathertight box on my roof and I connect to it via a 50 ft rj45 cable. I also have the insolation/temp/humidity sensor chained from this via a short 6 ft rj45 cable and finally I've also connected the rain sensor to the...
Hey All
I've gotten a new moisture sensor, fixed my cabling and thought I was in good shape, but I now am getting intermittent noise that looks like the previous moisture sensor without an isolation transformer. The problem is that I have an isolation transformer on just like the last board...
