    Somfy Help

i didn;t do it intentionally. If it's not in a tube and you set them, they get set to the same position because the encoder needs to the tube

it wasn't in a tube so effectively I set the upper and lower limit to the same position (due to the way the encoder works, the motor must be in a tube to set limits)

1-Wire Bus Wiring with RJ45 Termination

Thanks for the thoughts guys. I like the idea of stripping the insulation and punching down the uncut wire. Only problem I have with that is that the the punchdown tool has a cutter. Have seen some cheap plastic ones that don't. Will see if I can find one   Regards   Mark

1-Wire Bus Wiring with RJ45 Termination

Hi Guys   I'm installing a 1-Wire bus from an OW-Server 2. There will be one run from each port and each run will have 6-12 sensors. I'm using these:    http://www.amazon.com/Vktech-DS18b20.../dp/B00CHEZ250   I'd like to do it in such a way that I can attach the sensor to an RJ45 plug instead of...

    Considering OpenHAB any other contenders?

Hadn't heard of MQTT before. I use message brokers and q's at work so familiar with the concept. Would be good if there was a standard in HA world (but I guess Apple are about to put the dampers on that :-) )

    Considering OpenHAB any other contenders?

I ended up buying RTI (good friend bought it and I was impressed). I really like their remotes and love being able to do everything (Security (DSC), HVAC (NEST), Lights, AV) from a hard button remote (and not having to use a touch device for regular TV/Movie viewing). Nice having a small rack...

    Considering OpenHAB any other contenders?

Haven't tried Elve.   I really don't have a good feeling about it. Supposed to be open source now, this post doesn't give me any comfort: http://www.codecoretechnologies.com/community/index.php?topic=1892.0. There are no galleries (even the community only has about 4 sets of screens) Seems to be...

Anyone got z-wave working with OpenRemote?

Thanks for reply. Could you elaborate on your setup? Don't know too much about eventghost other than you can send it commands and have it execute PC stuff   What manages the z-wave network? What's the data flow when you send a command and receive status back?

Anyone got z-wave working with OpenRemote?

Just downloaded Configure my z-stick following instructions here: http://www.openremote.org/display/docs/Discover+Controller+Z-Wave+Devices   There is no z-wave section in the log4j.properties file. I added this to the end (as it seems to be the only thing that does anything in the example...
