Thanks guys, I've had this temp "solution" using an unused sump pump PVC - been holding off doing it right as I knew some renovations were coming up. I'm at that point now and will look and running some conduit/boxes around the perimeter with 2 or 3 penetrations.

While it's only been a couple of months, I've had success with motion detectors under an eave. If it trips I just have the Elk say "motion detected" so they know....   While not exactly related to your scenario, I'm much more interested in preventing an "event" rather than catching someone...

Does anyone know of a supplier for the Honeywell products? AO only has GE.

Thanks, that's quite a list! I had no idea as the "regular" vendors I use don't list most of these.    The asset protection module looks like it might make a good mailbox sensor.    Am I correct the range of Honeywell is not quite as good as GE but good enough for most residential applications?  

Looking at adding the GE or Honeywell. Primarily the small 0.75 dia. window/door magnetic contacts as well as PIR.   I've read that Honeywell has more product selection. Can someone tell me what other devices are available (other than visible door & window sensors? I won't be using those.  ...
