Is this a good system for Premise? I'm looking for something small that can be mounted in the back of a rack and uses low power.

I like the idea of the onboard soundcard that appears to have multiple outputs. I wonder if Premise will be able to use more than one output at a time (HDMI, analog, spdif...)?

2.5" 40GB Intel SSD hard drive:

Additional parts necessary:
4GB of DDR2 800 memory and Windows XP Professional 32 bit (SP1)

This system maybe over kill just for Premise. However, I think it might be better for streaming video/music as John in VA seemed to have a nice driver for streaming (haven't tried it much though) and I may end up using it for Windows Media Center in the future.

I buy my Mini-ITX boards from Logic Supply, they have a few Atom based boards with as many as 6 RS-232 ports.
I am using this board for my Premise server http://www.logicsupply.com/products/ms_9832
The board I am using is an Industrial grade board so I would think it should last many years, I had to buy a special cable for 3 of the on board RS-232 headers.

Here is their Intel Atom board page.

The Zotac board you linked to is overkill video wise for a Premise server, it might be nice for streaming video but It will cost more than to buy a hardware networked media player. I use SageTV for my video stuff and the Hardware media players are about $200, If you buy the Zotac board ($150)for a media player, you still need the hard drive, the OS, the case and memory. It seems like a lot of extra expense to me.

Thanks Wayne! The link you've provided seems to have a great selection of mini ITX boards and cases. I didn't realize there were mini ITX boards with so many onboard rs232 ports! I plan to use a Digi Edgeport USB to 8 RS232 devices, but maybe I should rethink that.
