I just purchased an iVision video door intercom. The camera unit that is mounted outside is powered by AA batteries, but the instructions say that "the camera door unit can be used without batteries by connecting it directly to an existing 8-16V wired doorbell supply.
If I simply disconnect my doorbell button (which has an appropriate voltage) but leave the chime unit in place:
1. Would I get the appropriate power needed for the iVision?
2. When someone pushes the iVision button (which rings its own remote bell and starts the camera), would the original chime ring?
