    HAI RC2000 Custom Message

I just upgraded from an older Omnistat RC80 to the Omnistat RC2000 (moving the RC80 to the basement). I noticed in the system setup of the RC2000 you can select which messages are displayed. One of the options is to display "custom message". I have a couple of questions about this feature...

    DIY HAI?

I did my HAI OmniPro II install myself a few years ago and have no regrets. It was easy to install and has not had a single problem. I have expanded it to include a thermostat, temp and humidity sensors, relays to control garage doors etc., zwave switches and a lot of custom programming...

Issues with NextAlarm.com not responding to alarm

Next Alarm has been great for me for the past couple of years. I have had a couple of false alarms, but they called immediately. A funny story about a false alarm - I received a call from Next Alarm telling me that the front door on my house was triggered. I told them I was an hour away, so...

well pump for sprinkler water supply

I am running my sprinkler system with a well also. I am guessing that the pump start relay is used to prevent the well pump from cycling on and off while the sprinklers are running as this will cause the well pump to fail prematurely. If you remove it, be carefull that each zone is pulling...

    Initial Vizia Feedback...

I have two Planar 15" touch panels that I found for $150 each. They work great. I have them temporarily mounted for testing until I decide how I am going to run the electrical and video signal. For now the PC is sitting right by them.

    Initial Vizia Feedback...

It is worth the extra money. I have 8 of the 1000 watt dimmers and they are great. The only one that I can hear anything from is one that controls a vanity light with 8 60 watt bulbs, and I only hear the buzzing when I put my ear near it when it is dimmed below 25%. Other than that, I can't...

    Vonage in Trouble

Actually, whether you have a patent yet or not, once you publish your idea, someone else can't patent the idea. "Publish" could be as simple as putting it in a newsletter, dated memo, etc. This is what allows people to shop their ideas around without fear of someone stealing them. As long as...

    z wave dimmers

Check out the Vizia RF dimmers. I can't comment on the 600 watt dimmers, but I installed 3 of the 1000 watt dimmers and love them. 4 more arrived today and they will go in very soon. I am using them with my HAI OmniPro II and the status update is extremely fast and very accurate. Acropolis

wiring a 3 way vizia RF switch

I am using the VZ0SR-1L switch. It was advertised as "Use with RZS15 for wired 3 or 4 way applications". I am hoping there is something simple that I am doing wrong and can easily correct it.

wiring a 3 way vizia RF switch

I may have figured it out. The Worthington catalog says to use the LEVVZ0SR-1L remote (which is what I have) with the 15 amp switch for 3 way applications, but the instructions for the 15 amp Vizia RF switch state that it must be a non LED remote. I have a feeling that there is a compatibility...

wiring a 3 way vizia RF switch

I had seen your previous post. I'm not trying to use the dimmer in my case, just a switch. I have it wired per the diagram, but it looks like they are assuming that the load (light) is in the middle and has a wire coming from both switches. I tried wiring it with a hot wire going to both...

wiring a 3 way vizia RF switch

I am in the process of installing several Vizia RF switches and dimmers. I have the single pole switches working ok, but I am having an issue with my 3 way applications. My understanding is that if I am using the 15 amp vizia rf switch, I can use the coordinating switch remote (non RF Vizia)...

    Satellite

To clarify the $5.00 box fee further - DirecTV used to supplement the cost of the equipment when you purchased it, but you owned it. They charged you $5.00 per receiver beyond the first one as a monthly fee. When you dropped the service you didn't return any equipment. As of around April 2006...
