    Sensor for skylight?

Here is an Amazon posting tip. When posting an Amazon link, only post from the start to just BEFORE the question mark. Disregard the question mark to the end, It just contains tracking info about you and is not needed. (It might even be a security risk.). Use this link

    temperature sensors

I can't speak for ELK, but the HAI one is very simple, the sensor outputs a voltage relative to the temp or humidity. The "extended" temp sensor does the same with a wider temp range. I think it will be hard to find off-the shelf parts to replicate this, because if the temp range of the sensor...

Alarm Relay wants account updates by email (insecure)

My mistake. I don't use Alarm Relay anymore. Something they did made me mad also, so I switched. I use SafeHomeCentral now. They have been OK but also didn't tell me about this web page until I discovered it by accident. Sorry, my mistake.

Alarm Relay wants account updates by email (insecure)

They do have web page where you can administer your alarm. They never told me about it but I stumbled across it somehow. myalarms.com

    temperature sensors

This one might be worth creating a redesign for. They are quite simple. They do nothing more than to take a temperature range (regular or extended) and convert that to a 0-5v signal. The circuit runs on 12v. I'll search, but there has to be other circuits out there that do that. A...

Max distance to a magnetic alarm sensor

68 ohm sounds about right. The ELK manual doesn't give a spec for contact wire, but DOES give a spec for smoke alarms, and its 13 ohms and it uses an 820 ohm resister as opposed to 2.2K ohm. There are two big reasons not to violate these specs. 1) The reason for an EOL is to detect wire...

Max distance to a magnetic alarm sensor

The range is typically pretty long. Look in the manual, it typically will give the length for each wire size.

Connect Omni LTe to TP Link Deco - Help Needed

Connecting a Omni to the Internet through a router is not different from connecting any other wired Internet device to the Internet. The only "tricky" part is the Omni doesn't support DHCP like most other devices. DHCP allows a device to request an IP address from the router. The Omni requires...

    Low priced TV's

I have read about a semi possible solution. There is a new USB ATSC 3.0 tuner that supports encryption. Its NOT a network tuner, and you need one for every TV, and the TV has to use a Fire TV or Google TV. Only one channel at a time and NO way to record. About $70 each. So not a great solution...

    Low priced TV's

The Huawei chip "thing" is just a smokescreen. That is not the real problem. Seems like the current administration has used lots of that smokescreens. The HDHomeRun is a network tuner, the GTMedia unit is not. The GTMedia box connects to a tv with an HDMI cable. Can you give examples of other...

    Low priced TV's

We get about 150 ATSC 1.0 stations (mid-size city) and get 12 ATSC 3.0 stations. ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and two independents are encrypted, the others not. Personally I do not see any difference between the ATSC 1.0 vs 3.0 picture quality. ATSC might provide better reception in the fringe areas...

    Low priced TV's

The HDHomeRun does support ATSC 3.0 but does not support DRM encrypted channels which many networks are using. Although SiliconDust and others that make these tunners are attempting to support encrypted channels, the FCC and others have other ideas. If the push to turn off ATSC 1.0 happens, then...

    OTA Antenna Installation

I have the ClearStream 2V outside and get about 150 stations. I'm maybe 40 miles from the transmitters that are all located on the same mountain. Its quite directional but not super picky.

    OTA Antenna Installation

No TV antenna will work at 200 miles from the transmitter, because of the curvature of the earth. If you can get 35 - 40 miles, your doing quite good. There is a great guy called Antenna Man on Youtube. He reviews antennas and provides lots of good info.

    Low priced TV's

I've had two Creality printers. One was the Creality CR-6 SE. It was a Kickstarter printer but I bought mine after Kickstarter. It never worked and support was always a joke. "Send us a video," do this, do that. Really stupid things that were just delay tactics. Eventually I got my money back...
