    Elk m1G Over Current

Any update?  I'm running into the exact same issue and ONLY my wireless zones are functioning... I read another thread where the person simply replaced the power supply even though it tested normal on the bench. I don't have anything with the 16.5 volts necessary

    Motion sensor controlled lights

All of my rooms are controlled this way. I've found that when an adjacent room had a sensor (all of mine do) the system will look for a trip in that room after a non trip in adjacent room. For example let's say living room only had one way into another room and it's through the kitchen When...

How to wire a transformer into ELK zone to monitor AC Loss

You may have...  That only trips on fault condition though, not when active.  I'll check out the link you send, thanks again!

How to wire a transformer into ELK zone to monitor AC Loss

In reference to my post above, I remember looking into this before, however the only solution I was aware of is running a donut to monitor AC current.  It would be great if there was another solution.

How to wire a transformer into ELK zone to monitor AC Loss

I would actually prefer that method of monitoring the generator.  I already have alarm wire running out to it, currently connected to trip on Fault status which is good, but not ideal for my setup. Here is the manual, and  specifically page 25 shows the alarm outputs...

How to wire a transformer into ELK zone to monitor AC Loss

I'm thinking out loud here, but maybe the doorbell will fall into a trouble state since it's powered via a LV transformer.   If home to power is lost that transformer will fail to power the doorbell as well.

How to wire a transformer into ELK zone to monitor AC Loss

The more I think about this, I have an extra ELK-930 doorbell sensor.  Couldn't I simply wire a 12v transformer directly into the doorbell sensor?  or even the ring detector? I have one of these and 2 ring detectors lying around, could I utilize this somehow? Thanks

How to wire a transformer into ELK zone to monitor AC Loss

I would prefer whatever route uses the least amount of power.  Does anyone have any hardware suggestions and where I can purchase online?

How to wire a transformer into ELK zone to monitor AC Loss

MIke, Yes, I've read there is a 3 minute delay.  My backup generator will have kicked on by then.  I'm trying to get instant status on power failure, unless there is a newer method of detecting AC failure without the delay not discussed in earlier posts...   I also was under the impression the...

How to wire a transformer into ELK zone to monitor AC Loss

I've read about this method in a few posts, however they were from 2008, and I cannot find instructions anywhere on wiring a 12v wall wart directly into a Zone on the elk to trigger when AC power is lost.    I understand the transformer will simply plug into an interruptable power source.  Also...

    Determining if Generator is running.

I'll admit i'm not sure what would apply to me, the 120 or 220...  I have the 20KW generator and it will power everything on my 200amp service panel.  I remember it works initially with a load balance where it would fire up my first HVAC system, then my 2nd afterward if both are calling to run...

    Determining if Generator is running.

Thanks for the insight, I have the wireless remote, and concluded the same thing DEL mentioned about introducing a whole new set of issues.  It looks like i'll be picking up the RIB.  Is it a pretty straightforward install?  If anyone can put together a quick schematic, it would truly be...
