My current issue is that I went to bed last night thinking that I had everything wired correctly. Then, today I was shredding some paper and jammed the paper shredder, which was attached to my Uninterrupted Power Supply - and the UPS started making a loud noise and everything connected to...
Thanks again Frunple, another question for you :)
Does it matter which white bundle the neutral wire from the UPB switch is connected to? There are other bundles of neutrals in the box (5 Gang)? And if I want to get power to the switch, does it matter which black bundle I tap?
"You can just correct the color code to the slave." ok, since I'm paranoid, I just want to be I understand correctly. So, your saying that the wiring is correct, its just that since I have the white wire that is headed to the slave connected to the black wires, it will cause confusion (like it...
I think that makes sense to me...so, since the upstairs switch is the only one with more than one wire coming into the box, I'm assuming that the second wire (1Black, 1White, 1Ground) must be the wire to the Load. The downstairs box only has the 1(Red/Black/White) wire. From looking at the...
I just replaced a 2 wall switches, 3 Way Switch, with a new HAI 35A00 and Auxiliary 37A00. Can anyone confirm if the new wiring configuration looks correct. The switches seem to work, but I don't want it to burn the house down next week :)
The builder had a white wire, connected to a black...
Update: The Installation Manual for the Alarm Panel shows a picture of how to wire a PCS04(which should be the same as the PW513) and the image shows a phone cord and then indicates Pin 1 Black, 2 Red, 3 Green, 4 Yellow...turns out that when I plug the module phone cord into the PW513, the...
I connected the Pulseworx PW513 to my Honeywell Vista 20P alarm panel on the 8 Pin connector, as described in the Honeywell Documentation; however, when I power on the system, my Keypad indicates AC Loss.
I went into the program mode, *27 and set the house code to 0(A) and then into *79 and...
Ok, I have never done Security Panel programming, but I guess I could give it a shot if it comes down to that....
Another thought...Is there anyway else that you can think of to get the "armed" status of my security system into the computer? Could be a simple text file created or almost...
'program the panel as if it had X-10 connect' - is that something that I can do from the keypad...or is that something that the security monitoring company needs to do? I think I can manage to add the PW-513 to Upstart and program that part....Thanks again
JonW, do you think it would be as simple as connecting to that 8 pin connector and then I would see the alarm system window sensors, motion sensors etc. in the UPB Upstart software? or do you think i would have to do any programming on the Alarm System Panel?
Another though, provided by Electron, maybe the Pulseworx PW-513 http://www.pulseworx.com/PW513_.htm would work so that the entire alarm system would send UPB events? Then, whenever my current motion detectors were triggered, it would give me a UPB event :) and so I could just add a few...
I see the 8 pin connector now, thanks! So, does that mean that all that I have to do is to connect leads from output 1 and 5 to the UPB Input/Output module and then when the alarm is "armed" it will trigger an event in the Input/Output module?
