So:
1) I apparently concused the ability to turn off restores in the communicator with restores in the log file - which you can't turn off. 2 Elk has stated that they will change their discription of what a {blank} does. The ELK controller stops announciating after encountering a {blank}...
I was just thinking - most people just place the magnet on top of the trim. You probably do want to post some pictures as the previous commentor suggested.

I' recently installed two of those senors. They are fairly forgiving with respect to gap size. When I've had problems geting it to "sense" when the door is closed, it (as I recall) had to do with the correct alignment of the magnet to the sensor (I was trying to adjust them so that they sensed...
So according to Brad at Elk, this is how it works (as I understand the explanation):
"The M1 System checks for Battery Voltage every 4 hours starting at Midnight with the Primary Battery Test being performed at 4:00 PM (1600) everyday. If the battery is not connected at 0000, 0400, 0800, 1200...
These motions do not have an occupancy setting according to the installation instructions. And my limited research indicated that the dual tech reduces the false alarm rate from single technology detectors well (although I am certainly no expert in this area). There were no insects of any kind...
There is probably a simple answer to this but i couldn't find it in the documentation (please excuse my ignorance). When I disconnect the terminals from the backup battery on my ELK M-1 Control, I get a low battery message on my keypad, but there is no parallel event recorded in the ELK log...
That they are the same frequency and consequently may interfer with each other causing false alarms does seem like a possibility. But I reduced the sensitiviy levels and they made no difference. I also reviewed the elk log on these motion detectors and found the following:
1. They did not...
That's a good point. I have set them to the hightest sensitivity (as I did with th bosh and another older detector that don't experience false alarms). I'll reduce the sensitivity and see if there is any correlation to the false alarms. If they are alarming based on the mircrowave only...
Oh yeah, I tested your solution- and you were right :excl: With one resistor the hum was barely audible. And as I was placing the resistor across the terminals, I realized that if one of the wires to the siren was cut, the resistor would make it undetectible to the control. I think I will...
After rethinking this issue, placing a resistor across the terminals eliminates the supervision of the siren. Consequently if it's later disconnected - the control wouldn't inform me of this, and would eliminate a critical safety feature. So either I live with a humm, or install a speaker...
I have programmed the elk to not report restore pules or status on my sensors, ie I placed "0" in the restore column. Yet the Elk is still reporting the restore status on all of my sensors. Is there another action I need to take to eliminate the logging of the restore status?
I have also...
I should add that all detectors on this system are wired to supervise on open, and as interior or interior followers. The tampers are wired to separate input zones. Any ideas on what would cause the detectors to false alarm every two to ten minutes like this? One is close to an intake vent -...
