High Frequency Hum/Buzz from HAI &SA UPB Light Switches

Hey friends, I've got over 50 HAI 35A00-1 Dimmer Switches that have developed an annoying hum at night. Oddly it doesn't happen all the time, but when it does you can hear this study high-frequency hum/buzz coming out of the switches. Definitely audible enough that you can hear it across the...

    Samsung SmartThings Integration

Just an update to everyone on my issues… Did you know that Windows 10 will sometimes "block" a zip file that includes an installable file? I didn't realize this and fought and hodgepodged my way through the install trying to do something that should've taken a few minutes only to find it take...

    Samsung SmartThings Integration

Hey guys, running into problems installing the .NET service. As you can see in the below it appears to be using the .NET Installation utility Version 2.0.50727.832 that is included in the HAILogger V1.0.8 package. When I tried to install using the included install.bat file I get the below. As...

Anyone making Google Home/Assistant work with HAI Omnipro

Just purchased one of the Google Home devices, been messing around with it and IFTTT and wondering if anyone has gotten Google Home working to provide voice control for an Omnipro and possibly a Global Cache IR device.  Thinking about finally tying my home automation system together by using a...

Saving money with Sylvania Ultra LED Lightbulbs   Holy wow, freaking incredible!  Was shopping the other day at Lowe's and found a bunch of Sylvania Ultra LED BR 30 lightbulbs for $9.99.  Decided to buy 38 of them and wrote an article about savings/return on investment and my initial thoughts.

madburg! Great to meet ya and thanks for following along my blog, adding input here and there! I'll have to check out unRAID as soon as I can add in a few more hard drives and get some redundancy in there for my media… as far as Plax, would love to give it a try, but will never happen...

Thanks, no problem turning fans on/off I just use a 15 amp relay switch for that, but I don't believe there is any switch/module that will give you speed control.

Maybe she’d love you if you use the massage button instead ;-). Definitely love my Tempurpedic bed as well! Might have cost a small fortune, but it’s so much more comfortable I have a tough time sleeping on anything else! Maybe she’d love you if you use the massage button...

Do-It-Yourself Tempurpedic Ergo Adjustable Bed Automation Oh how I love reverse engineering/hacking into stuff to get it to do exactly what you want. In this article I wrote about how we took apart the wireless controller to a Tempurpedic Advanced Ergo adjustable bed so that I could have full...

I've bought several thousand dollars worth of product from Automated Outlet and been extremely happy with their technical expertise, customer service, pretty much everything. Along the journey of building my automated home I had a number of questions, ran into a few issues with products, and...

Kind of one of those things you just need to keep an eye on. The ILT shades show up there all the time, it’s just all about finding enough of the right size for the right price. Right now there is a 506S2 model identically sized to what I’ve already got for $146. Still twice what...

Thanks David, it was definitely a pain until I found all the documentation/software, but now that I've got that it would be a piece of cake to add another couple, 10, or 100 automated shades into my house!

Integrating Somfy ILT Electric Shade with HAI OmniPro Wow! That one was a doozy! All the crazy research, fun, chasing nonexistent technical documentation, finding obscure software that went into integrating my Somfy ILT2 Electric Roller Shade Motors into my HAI Omnipro II. Now that I've got all...

Documenting the Home Automation Technology in Quadomated

Hey David, Still need to set aside some real time/brainpower to get the Whole Home Audio setup figured out. I'm tossing around changing out a few of my amplifiers to make the home theater experience better, and then have a secondary low powered amplifier with many channels to hit my other...
