    M1KPNAV troubles

A little over 5 years ago to the date: http://cocoontech.com/forums/topic/24618-m1pknav-trouble/   Same exact thing happened again today.  Not at home yet to check the logs but I have a feeling it will be the same thing.   She got the unit into demo mode somehow, which at least took her back to...

Premise Forgot username and password for Premise server

Thanks for trying.   Luckily I hadnt done much work with it so I think I can use the File -> Reset option just to clear everything and start over.

Premise Forgot username and password for Premise server

Forever ago I setup Premise on a T5710 thin client...today is the day where I actually get to connect it to my Elk M1, but I cant remember my username and password.   Im logging in using Builder on the actual box the server is running on, so localhost is the host....is there a way to recover the...

Lighted doorbell connection to Elk M1

Yeah the one I got is just a regular button with a "halo" LED around it.  Looks cool (especially for the price) and there is still a button in the center that should indicate "press me"

Lighted doorbell connection to Elk M1

Nope, I definitely see where you're coming from!  I was kinda in a rush to get it up and running and connecting to the M1 was the "shortest stroke".  I dont have any Elk boards hanging around :) so using their doorbell module was out of the question yesterday.  I might still look into it...

Lighted doorbell connection to Elk M1

Its working as expected, actually.  I have it announce 800mhz tones to mimick a real doorbell.  The issue with it not lighting was actually because the polarity was reversed (which causes LEDs not to emit anything:) ).   I reversed the wires at the button and it all works as it should.  No...

Lighted doorbell connection to Elk M1

Thanks DEL (and everyone else)   It almost seems like Id be better off with an incandescent lit button, converted the way Elk says to.  Unless its something with this particular LED button thats an issue.

Lighted doorbell connection to Elk M1

I think whatever resistor is on the PCB is essentially acting like an EOL (albeit more resistance than required).    If I set the zone type to normally open, the voltage still shows 5.0 but the zone shows as violated all the time.  Changing it to EOL/Supervised makes Elk think its a normal...

Lighted doorbell connection to Elk M1

Just finished the install, for now.   I had it temporarily wired (using 22-2) to the zone panel and was seeing 6.4V on the zone.  When I hooked it up at the actual doorbell location, voltage on the zone dropped to 5.0, both readings just looking at the Status in ElkRP.     The wiring to the...

Lighted doorbell connection to Elk M1

Thanks for the replies.   Yes, I will have a direct connection from the doorbell button to the Elk zone.  It all needs to be fixed because the wire from the existing ringer transformer got nicked in the wall, somewhere I cant reach.  The button wires are fine (confirmed with multimeter)   And...

Lighted doorbell connection to Elk M1

I see Elk has an "official" how-to on connecting a lighted doorbell button (http://www.elkproducts.com/m1-applications-connecting-lighted-doorbell-button-to-m1-zone)   My question is if the resistor is required when using a button that is LED out of the box.  I think it is, but wanted to be sure...

    Carrier Infinity

Im curious about Infinitude - has anyone used it to be able to catch "freeze frame" type data?   Background: had an Infinity system installed over the summer (new AC, new furnace).  After firing up the furnace once the gas line was run, all was well.  A month later when we actually needed heat...

UPB SA US2-40 VS. SA US11-40

Not trying to rain on the thread but I have questions of a similar nature.   Our basement stairs have lights at the bottom of them....we dont need one directly over the stairs because they are open to the living area so there is enough light to get down them.  The switch at the top of the stairs...

    Problem sending emails with M1XEP

I see a difference between your trace and vc1234's - the successful trace is using just the username portion as the Email username, yours was using the full email address.  Have you tried the same on yours?
