Put a resistor across the solar cell / panel. It's value should be one that loads the cell / panel as it would be in normal use. Then measure the voltage across the resistor and calculate power from P = V^2/R. You could divide that power by the devices surface area to get solar flux.
First, try using the uncached sub-directory, ie.
/tmp/1wire/uncached/29.EA6D04000000/PIO.0
You'll see results immediately instead of after the OWFS software cycles through everything.
I have never gotten anything but the ".BYTE" to work on PIO (with a DS2406).
I'm using OWFS on a Power Mac...
There is no output on the DS2438. If you are talking about triggering on any activity on the 1-wire net it will be triggering all the time, every time something happens on the net.
You could do it with the HVAC monitor board and a couple of simple modifications. The 2450 in this board has 4...
You need to determine the maximum difference in count to be expected in normal use. Then add a tolerance factor (10% say). Then if a pair of samples differs by more than this amount ignore this data and try again.
As Eric said you don't need a battery for wind speed. If you put one in then...
I'm new to this forum and to 1-wire. I was perusing the old messages and in one about waterproofing sensors Plasti-Dip was suggested. I've seen this type of product around in the past but couldn't find it in the hardware store today. I did however find Liquid Electrical Tape.
I bought some...
It took me a while to figure out how to get the sample code from Maxim to compile under X-Tools but I managed. I'm using a DS9097. One of my biggest headaches when I first tried the CLI examples was figuring out the port name (DS2097-1). There was no hint anywhere in the docs. I think I...
