Problems enrolling ELK-M1XRFEG on my ELK M1

Did you figure out your problem? I wonder if your hub is terminated correctly for this data line. It looks like the jumper JP1 is installed in the M1XRFEG. Is this the only device on that run from the retrofit data bus hub? Is the hub terminated on its side?

    Activating garage door

tI had to revisit this thread for programming instructions--15 years later. The Rosslare vandal resistant keypad attached to my M1 died after 15 years of faithful service, so I had to replace it. Model number is the same, Rosslare AY-S55. I had forgotten what communication protocol to use...

Ethernet trouble/restore after recent firmware updates.

I am reviving an old thread. I never figured out a solution to my system's problem, until today. My system is configured with the house's main floor as area 1 and the unfinished basement as area 2. I keep the basement (area 2) armed at all times unless someone needs to use the basement...

    New Elk Panel

This is a picture of Elk's new E27 Alarm Engine from Elk's Facebook page.  It looks like it has onboard ethernet integration.  Let's hope this means better ethernet integration and reporting than the current setup with XEP.

Ethernet trouble/restore after recent firmware updates.

I am the original poster of this thread and want to leave a bit of an update in case someone else is having similar troubles. I haven't figured out my M1 system's problem, but I have learned how to work around some of the issues. At the moment, my observations are not certain so take what I say...

Ethernet trouble/restore after recent firmware updates.

Thank you. for the reply.  At the moment, I do not have CS monitoring.  I do not have a phone number in the field for monitoring either.  The XEP is enrolled (which is why the system is logging and alerting ethernet trouble/restore).  I have looked at this board and Elk's support forum...

Ethernet trouble/restore after recent firmware updates.

With a recent round of firmware updates, my house's M1 system has gone a bit haywire.  My system now logs extremely frequent ethernet trouble/restore messages.  As soon as I arm the system, the cycle of ethernet trouble/restore goes away.  When I disarm the system the cycle of ethernet...

Did anyone else lose configuration with eKeypad update today?

For me, there was no option in the app to close eKeypad after syncing with the panel.  I pushed the home button on my iPhone (yes mine is old and has a home button), and reopened eKeypad.  The first sync with the panel did not save the configuration, but the second attempt did save.  Good luck.

Did anyone else lose configuration with eKeypad update today?

It looks like eKeypad updated on my iPhone today, and in the process, my panel's eKeypad configuration was lost.  Did anyone else have to reconfigure their eKeypad app today (9/6/19)?

New house, zero automation now, what dimmers for future automation

Another vote for RadioRA2 here.  RadioRA2 is a professional solution, and it shows.  My house's 100 device system has been rock solid for several years.  The initial "hoops" to jump through are not too bad for a DIYer.   Lutron's support is excellent.  For instance, I had a bad main repeater...

    Elk Rebooted?

I had a random reboot happen today right after the system was armed away mode. I am running firmware 5.2.10 and up until today it has been rock solid stable. Who knows what happened? I don't see any errors in the log. For now I will ignore the event.

Elk M1G Firmware/Software updates caused big issues

It would be nice to see an updated M1 board with integral ethernet connection.  Plug any play of course.   Until then, Elk has a downloadable special updater utility for the XEP that works with Windows 10 and updates the XEP to 2.0.34.

Elk M1G Firmware/Software updates caused big issues

I too am being notified of conflicts between my database and the M1 after updating the M1's firmware despite what appears to be a good flash of the M1.  Everything is at the latest avail firmware/bootware/RP2.  For the time being, I am just ignoring the messages, but it is frustrating.

What to do with an M1Gold? Continue to invest or "upgrade" (replace)?

I agree that Elk is long in the tooth and desperately in need of an update, but what else is out there to replace it?  I am not sure there is anything that can replace a full-on Elk system right now.

    Windows 10 issues with ELK

I updated my XEP firmware using the link above and then updated my system to Windows 10.  So far RP operating under Windows 10 seems to be able to connect to my M1 via the XEP.
