    Elk Output control

Very strange. A few questions: Does it always stay on forever, or does it sometimes shut off after the 1 second, or does it stay on for random times but eventually shuts off? Since you're using output19, I guess you have an output expander. Do other outputs on the expander turn on/off as...

    Armored enclosure for PC Case?

Excellent point. I hadn't thought about that, but it would be incredibly easy. In many places the main electrical panel is outside by code, and locks are prohibited, also by code. Opening the panel and flipping the main breaker off would take 5 seconds. So I guess I'll add an alarm condition...

    Output loading at relay

After searching a bit, I found an old reply that says connecting an output (output 7-16 anyway) directly to the 912B relays is potentially not reliable. The replay said: "Strange as it may seem, I don't think the 912 relays are recommended for direct use with the M1 series. The 912 series...

    Output loading at relay

So I guess you are saying the outputs are current sources? The manual seems to say they are voltage sources, but it's not entirely clear. I have a variable power supply (voltage source) and when I set it at 12V, then hook it to the relay, the relay terminals read 12V.

    Output loading at relay

When I measure the unloaded output, it measures 13.9V. When I connect it (and the -) to a ELK912B relay, the voltage measures 9.75V across the + and - terminal of the relay. It switches the relay OK, but I wasn't expecting the Output10 voltage to drop so much when connected to the relay. The...

    Exit1 and Exit2

re: Couldn't you just set zone 7 To force armed so it will automatically bypass if left open and set a rule to bypass the motion (zone 10 ) whenever 7 is bypassed. Then call your cellphone Whenever zone 7 and 10 are in bypass mode and the alarm is armed ? It wouldn't work quite the same I don't...

    Exit1 and Exit2

(Recap) Here's a description of what I wanted it to do and what rules I used to get it to work: Some initial info on settings: Zone 7 is the garage overhead door contact Zone 10 is the garage motion (a Honeywell DT7435) Both zones are type "burglar entry/exit2," set to be bypassable Delays...

    Exit1 and Exit2

Wayne: I think there's a global that controls what you're talking about. Gives you one re-entry and re-start of the exit timer. But I'll look into it. Thanks. Wuench: Force arming is close, but not quite right for what I want to do. I'm trying to think of a way to emulate the parts of...

    Exit1 and Exit2

Interesting idea, thanks Collin. It sounds sort of like a force-arm scenario, but without the associated arming issues. Is that right? I also looked at what's called a common area, but I think that doesn't give me the correct operation since it would hold off arming the main house zones. I...

    Exit1 and Exit2

Yes, I understand that part of it. I even have mine set up that way (garage on enter/exit2, which is longer than enter/exit1). But with no apparent way to take distinguishing actions based on the exit 1/2 differences via rules, I'm having trouble getting the system to respond the way I'd like...

    Exit1 and Exit2

What is the programming purpose of the Entry/Exit2 delays? There doesn't seem to be any programming that recognizes Exit1 versus Exit2 transitions. The "Whenever Exit Delay..." rule goes by exit1 settings, so it doesn't seem exit2 matters as far as rules go. Am I interpreting this right?

    Time server update error

Interesting. If you clear yours, then click on any other field, it doesn't automatically re-fill-in the time with the current time? The time field is being interpreted, even if the IP address is blank, because that is the time stamp of the email I receive, which says connection to the time...

    Time server update error

That would probably stop from receiving the email notifications that it's failing to reach a time server of "blank" IP address. My question is why it's trying in the first place. I don't have any info entered to signal that I want it to try and reach a time server. It more a curiosity than it is...

    Time server update error

Can I just paste the snag in this window somehow? Guess not. There are only 4 boxes. IP address is blank, time shows 2:00AM, send email is checked, and time zone shows grayed entry.

    Time server update error

In M1XEP Setup, I do not have anything in the time server URL/IP address field (time server tab). In the DNS tab, the only field I have filled in is the email address. I have been getting emails every day (at the time set in the time server tab, which you can't clear) for some reason. The...
