Time server update error

In M1XEP Setup, I do not have anything in the time server URL/IP address field (time server tab). In the DNS tab, the only field I have filled in is the email address.

I have been getting emails every day (at the time set in the time server tab, which you can't clear) for some reason. The emails say:

The ELK-M1XEP encountered an error while updating its clock from the Time Server.
Please check the server's address and the DNS server's address.
Error message: Bad URL/IP for time server.

(but the (time) server address and DNS server address are blank).
The only thing I've changed recently is I added the email address to the DNS tab, where these reports are being sent. But I don't understand the error email since none of the fields in the time server or dns tab are filled in.

Any thoughts?

How about a screen shot of your M1XEP Setup Time Server tab.

Can I just paste the snag in this window somehow? Guess not.
There are only 4 boxes. IP address is blank, time shows 2:00AM, send email is checked, and time zone shows grayed entry.

uncheck the check box?

That would probably stop from receiving the email notifications that it's failing to reach a time server of "blank" IP address. My question is why it's trying in the first place. I don't have any info entered to signal that I want it to try and reach a time server. It more a curiosity than it is any kind of a problem. I suppose the packets just get dropped at my service provider's gateway, since it wouldn't know what to do with a blank destination IP address.

Odd that you can't clear the time box. I can clear mine, or change it to any other time.

Interesting. If you clear yours, then click on any other field, it doesn't automatically re-fill-in the time with the current time?

The time field is being interpreted, even if the IP address is blank, because that is the time stamp of the email I receive, which says connection to the time server failed.

Well that's different. I thought you meant that you cannot change it, that is is "grayed out." (which was why I suggested a screen shot.)

If unchecking the box and clearing the URL don't stop the nightly annoyance, it's time to call or write Elk.
