Thanks @Cocoonut that is super helpful and appreciate the additional info about handling surges!
Just to be sure, do I need to run an additional line back for the keypad or are you saying that I can run it to the M1XIN and run a separate 12v locally to power it?
Steve
I'm in the process of building a backyard ADU/Studio and wasn't quite sure what the definitive way to monitor the unit would be. I am planning on adding motion and/or a glass break sensor and a door sensor, and a secondary keypad.
I was initially thinking of running a cat6 to the unit and...
Thanks Pete and Work2Play. So if I were to upgrade my existing lenses, the challenge is to figure out what 3.6 lens Grandstream is putting into these cameras.
Steve
Hi Pete,
Were you able to upgrade the lens on the 3672? I have a couple of these and regret not getting the 3.6 wide angle lens. If so, what would one google if I wanted to replace or search for compatible lenses?
Thanks,
Steve
Curious, has anybody heard/used one of these (a multi-port POE injector):

Reason I ask, is that I have a un-utilized 24 port gigabit...
Kevin, I have been looking to do this for some time. Do you have any info on what you read or used to make this work? What kind of opener?
Thanks,
Steve
Gave it a shot and it looks like the voltage it reads is the Celcius equivalent. I tried setting the zone (zone 15) as a temperature zone, but it didn't seem to recognize it as a legit temperature probe. Wonder if I could use the voltage value and convert it to Fahrenheit or something?
Steve
Thanks Cocoonut. Hoping to feed temp without too much third party.
I have an RCS OS5... can you hook that straight into the elk zone instead of going into the rcs controller or do you need a more sophisticated ext temp probe to do that?
Steve
While looking for this clarification, I found this. Can somebody verify this and which one would I use to run back to my Elk M1 zone?
I'm assuming the Form A is the simplest setup that would work for a zone.
Steve
You guys rock! Is there any reason why I would use the doorbell detector if I was just powering off the board? It seems like they will both do the same thing.
