    ELK M1G missing zones?

Figured out that some of the zones are assigned to different areas. Have something else going on but need to explore further.

    ELK M1G missing zones?

Greetings all. I recently expanded my ELK system to include additional hard wired door sensors and I've been having some challenges with inconsistent results. I noticed on the keypads I have messages: NOT READY 9 Zn, or same for zone 7. When I go to the ELK RP software under the Zones...

Elk M1xIN expander board, dip switches

Ok, here's the latest, very interesting. I tried reversing the position of all 4 switches, 1 up, 2 and 3 down, 4 up. Rebooted the system, enrolled modules and the M1XIN disappeared so that didn't look good. I reversed them again, 1 down, 2 and 3 up, 4 down, rebooted the system, enrolled modules...

Elk M1xIN expander board, dip switches

I have a single LED blink but no voltages and the M1XIN is recognized and shows up in the modules list but shows at address 9, shouldn't that be address 6?   (New attachment posted)

Elk M1xIN expander board, dip switches

Thanks RAL, I will set accordingly. I did take into account the wireless zones and decided to start the expansion board at zone 81 because I just couldn't see myself needing more than 64 wireless zones, (17-80) even that many seemed a huge stretch.   Is there anyway to tell if the expansion...

Elk M1xIN expander board, dip switches

I'm back again for another question. RAL thank you for your help.   I need to get my M1XIN expander board working now for additional hard wired zones. I am trying to set it up to use zones 81-96. According to the manual, the address dip switches are labeled 1,2,4,8 but on my physical board they...

Elk setup for Honeywell 944T Contacts

RAL, thank you for your reply. Son of a gun you are absolutely correct in that there are no magnets in the doors. I assumed the contractor had completed that work but not so. Let me get going on that piece of the puzzle. Wow.....

Elk setup for Honeywell 944T Contacts

Greetings, I have had an Elk M1 system up and running now for about 2 years in a new house build with smoke detectors and wireless window sensors. There is no expertise available where we live so I am it for the support team and have done all configuration work thus far. The house was hardwired...

    User manual not install manual

Thank you all, i had looked at this in some detail before but saw mostly the programming side of the keypad functions. I'll read more closely.

    User manual not install manual

Hi all, I'm a new M1 Gold owner and by necessity support team of one. Where I live there is no Elk expertise so I am it for figuring this stuff out. So far I have been able to get the M1 up and running with two keypads, databus hub, one zone expander, and wireless transceiver plus integration...

Options for four wire run or use Cat5/6 for wireless transceiver

Thank you for this great info, just to make sure I understand. The data bus hub is connected to the M1 via the four wire plug assembly to the J1 block. The second branch would be connected to: the J2 block or the RS-485 block?

Options for four wire run or use Cat5/6 for wireless transceiver

Greetings. I am in the midst of a new ELK M1 install and things are going OK so far with a fairly simple implementation, one 16 zone expander (M1XIN), one wireless transceiver (M1XRFTWM) and a data bus hub (M1DBH). I installed the hard wire expander first starting on zone 17 and understand I now...

New Elk user, confirming my approach

These are all great replies, thank you. Is there a simple way to accomplish a daisy chain with existing home run wiring? What is easy to do is put all 5 alarms in zone 1 since they are in fairly close proximity (25 yards).

New Elk user, confirming my approach

Greetings, I am new to this forum and about to implement an Elk M1 gold in a new house. Since Elk doesn't provide direct customer support and where I am moving has no "local" professionals, I expect to be mostly on my own. First up is to get smoke detectors working in order to pass inspection...
