Is there a simple way to prevent the outside siren from sounding when the CO detectors are tripped? We'd still want the inside speaker to sound. The fire department does not want the outside siren when this alarm is tripped.

Unplugged the battery and A/C and left it for a while - no luck. Looks like power fluctuations from the storm caused some damage to the board. I'll send it in for service. Thanks for your help.

Finally got to take some voltage readings. The transformer is outputting 19-20v. The wires are tight to the panel, but the panel is dead without the battery attached (which is now dead too). The orange power LED on the panel is lit and not blinking.

I didnt measure the voltage yet, but the M1 does not work unless the battery is attached (but then it dies). Seems like my wall wart is shot.

The wall wart has a green light and I did check the connections. The outlet is fine (there is another wall wart pluged into it working). I'll check the voltage readings on the wall wart as soon as I get back to the house. If it is the wall wart, where is the best place to get one? Does anyone...

"When you unplug the battery does the m1 go dead?..." YES! The M1 dies. I replaced the battery and the system was fine for a day or so, then it went "Low Battery" and eventually died again.

No. I will do that. What if it is not reading high enough? what would the next step be?

The battery voltage was initially over 13. After a day, the system is now reporting a "Low Battery" again. It seems the Elk is not using the AC and the it is not charging the battery. Any suggestions?

Thanks. It is still reporting a low battery after the power cycle. It seems the battery is not being charged. What charges it? Maybe it is faulty (BTW, the green light is displaying on the A/C Power transformer.

We had a power outage (for days) due to Irena. The power went back on, but, my Elk M1 was displaying a low battery, then the system went out completely. I've since replaced the battery, thinking maybe it couldnt hold a charge, but the new battery is not charging either. Any suggestions?
