I use WeatherXML and it works excellent. It pulls data down from NOAA and has up to 10 days Forcast. You may use Weather Underground for certain information not available from your selected Primary XML Source.

You In Fact Do have to Marry a specific Quatech Unit to a PC. I erased the driver for the Quatech on the PC to my remote house, so I used my local Quatech to create a new driver for the PC. Thinking that driver would work for the other remote house machine if I just changed the IP address etc...

How secure is the Leafs Networks? If I use this product to get the Quatech up and running and have a pc going, I also thought of putting an extra HD or two in the machine and use it as off site backups.
