    Need help troublehooting electrical problem

This morning, I noticed one of my 3-way INSTEON switchlinc is not working (LED not on). Thinking that the switch is dead, I replaced it with a new one but still the same problem. Then I tested the original switch that I thought was dead and found out that the switch is OK. So, I took a...

    Homeseer drops Insteon plugin development

upstatemike, I have no doubts that ISY is a better Insteon controller than HS2+PLM plugin, and that ISY+HS2 will make a killer combo. But I still wish there's a cheaper version of ISY that does not have timers and programs that will cost less than $150 (perhaps a firmware change can restrict...

    Homeseer drops Insteon plugin development

Wouldn't it be an overkill to use ISY as an Insteon controller for Homeseer? I mean, for a $329 device, ISY is designed to be a standalone automation controller, complete with event programming, just like Homeseer. You will now have two places to program the events, but if you just use homeseer...

Want low-power, fanless, computer to drive automation software and touchscreens

Try the Intel D201GLY2 mini-ITX form factor motherboard + CPU (~$70). It's fanless, all you need is add a DDR2-667 RAM and a HD. I have this setup with the picoPSU 60w power supply, it's noiseless and it's currently my homeseer2 machine. Another solution is to get the MacMini, of course, it...

Embedded vs PC vs embedded PC for HA controller

I built myself an 'embedded HA controller'. It consists of an Intel G201GLY2 miniITX board+CPU, with a picoPSU 60w power supply. I didn't even bother buying a case for it as I am planning on sticking the motherboard itself directly inside the wiring closet. The system itself uses about 30w of...

    GE water sensor #GEWSECFS

Hi, I am not sure what is the model# for #GEWSECFS, but I have CADNX695 and it works with my ELK M1 wireless receiver. The #GEWSECFS is cheaper though, so I am also interested in knowing if this will work with M1, I could add a couple more sensors in my house.

Cant get a Homeseer/Elk-M1G Event to run. Help!

    I think C04 and C4 is the same in homeseer. I did a test: &hs.SetDeviceStatus "C04", 2; and &hs.SetDeviceStatus "C4", 2; both change the status of C4.

    W800RF in ELK-M1

When M1 receives an X10 code from W800RF (palm pad, MS16A, etc), does it retransmit the same X10 code to the powerline? My intention is to solely use W800RF as a trigger to X10 signals, without retransmitting them to the powerline and affect my Insteon devices. Thanks.

how do you power it all??

Paul, How much amp can each outlet of your Altronix outputs? Most of my stuffs require at least 1 amp (Cable modem, Switch, Router). And the ELK unit can only output 250ma.

Need suggestions relocating rg6 cable to new can

I have a similar situation (not enough space in existing enclosure). What is the best way to add new enclosure? Can one add a flush-mount enclosure after the drywall is up? If not, then I guess adding a surface mount enclosure next to the existing flush-mount enclosure is the next best thing.

    Avermedia or GeoVision?

Smarty, How's the image quality of your KT&C N600H1 camera? I am thinking of getting the N600H2, but I am concern about the daytime color picture quality. Thanks.

is it possible to make an ELK rule .....

That's why I used the X10 ActiveEye wireless motion sensor. So far they have not given me false activations, but I am still thinking of replacing them with GE wireless motion detectors, since I have a wireless receiver on my M1G.

is it possible to make an ELK rule .....

Steve/Elcano's idea is exactly what I am currently using. I had a couple of X10 Motion sensors outside my house, near patio, masterbedroom, etc. I have a rule like this: Whenever system armed, and time is after 11:00pm If motion detected (by X10) outside, then turn on Task #1 Task #1...

is it possible to make an ELK rule .....

How about this: 1. Upon M1 being armed, set the Output 100 to 'On' for 1 hour. 2. Whenever Motion Detected and Output 100 is 'On' Then Turn Output 100 'On' again for another 1 hour. 2. When output 100 becomes 'Off' (this implies no motion for last hour), then Set output 101 to 'On'. 3...
