Hi,
Do I need to install a DSL filter(obviously I have DSL) between the RJ31X jack and the alarm panel. I actually have an ELK-952 surge protector as well.
Thanks.
I've answered my own question...I have tested and seen that you need to have 3 minutes elapse before the alarm will sound....seems pretty crazy to me....wish I could go with a wired setup but it will be too destructive...oh well.
I with the RM software had a way to tell the signal strength of...
Hi,
I picked up a couple of these motion sensors and I'm a bit embarrased that I cannot fathom how to get them to work.
I've got the ELK M1XRF2G working with them. When I open up the case to the motion sensor and press the walk test switch, the red LED comes on. I close the case back up. If I...
There are some places I will use wireless as I would otherwise have to drill from left to right through a bunch of 2x4's that are behind a finished wall which makes little sense...
This location I don't think will be that difficult actually but since I've never done it before I want to make sure...
Thanks again for all the responses. I'm probably over-thinking this but the wife is going to kill me if I end up with a lot of mistakes(ie. holes!).
Sandpiper: I'm not 100% clear on what you are saying...are you saying to put one conductor through the hole of the fiber rod and bend it over and...
Thanks for the reply.
What is the wire chain you are thinking of...something like this? http://www.allproducts.com/metal/dotto/01-...ack_chain-l.jpg
It's a good idea...I would just tape/tie the electrical cable to the end of the chain I guess.
The alternative is that I try and venture across...
Some advice needed:
I have a couple of windows(bay windows) that have an attic right above. I want to put some sensors on these windows so I need to fish some wire up to the attic.
From the attic I need to get the wire another 18' back towards a wall so I can fish this downstairs (directly...
Sacedog: Can you describe in a bit more detail what you have going on with your system as a whole? You house must be a monster to have that size of an Elk system!
Impressive to say the least!

Hi,
Not sure if my topic is correct but I have something similar to the following:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000M7UIN0/ref=as...ASIN=B000M7UIN0
Can I put 1 or 2 insteon switches directly into the opening and will they fit in the 3 gang box?
Thanks.

The best work-around is to let her get on with her gadget loving life(for my wife that is cooking and shopping...)!
:o
BTW-I'm in Ontario so we don't have that store as far as I can tell...I'm sure I will find these rods somewhere...
Thanks again.
Thanks guys...
I think some of our Lowes and Home Depots have the sticks but not at the ones I visited. They both carry the Greenlee flexi drills but they were in rough shape(looked like returns) so I didnt buy them.
Hopefully I will get around to this in the next few weeks. Some many...
Thanks. Yes, neither of them had any unfortunately.
I found some places that carry these sorts of things but no one had any stock but could order...might as well get them from the internet.
If any Canadian has any experience with purchasing this stuff, let me know.
Thanks.
