    Combo Smoke/CO

I'm building a new home which requires hard-wired smoke and CO detectors. I had planned on using the System sensor COSMO-4W. But since the pandemic started, it's been impossible to get these ANYWHERE!  Does anyone know of a different manufacturer of a combination smoke/CO unit?  I don't think I...

    Elk M1G Cannot Read Omnistat2

How new is the Omnistat2? Is it the HAI or Leviton?  I had an HAI installed since 2009, which failed after about 8 years when I had the furnace replaced.  The furnace installer swears the issue is with the T-stat, not the furnace.  But I've sent the T-stat to Leviton for repair, and I can't get...

    Elk M1G Two-way Wireless - going mad?

So, closing this thread out. I did upgrade the firmware of the M1G pane and both zones are now working. Either the firmware upgrade, or the subsequent reboot of the M1G, has solved the issue. Thanks for everyone's advice!

    Elk M1G Two-way Wireless - going mad?

I have never upgraded the firmware of the M1G, and I installed it nearly 10 years ago. I suppose it's worth a shot. . . M1G is running 5.2.8 but the XRFTW is current on firmware.

    Elk M1G Two-way Wireless - going mad?

Do I need to upgrade the firmware of the M1G panel? Or the XRFWM?

Rebooting ELK M1 from RP2 or reset smoke alarm

Not in ElkRP that I am aware of. You may not need to recycle power.  There is menu option on the keypad to reset the smokes. I think it's menu option 2. If you have a remote keypad you could do that, but I dont know of a way to do it from ElkRP.

    Elk M1G Two-way Wireless - going mad?

I'm positive that the third sensor position (loop 3) is enrolled. That sensor was working perfectly when Loop 3 was a lower number zone than Loop 1. But, in that configuration, Loop 1 (Zone 19) wasnt being recognized. When I moved Loop 3 from zone 18 to 20 in software only - no changes to wiring...

    Elk M1G Two-way Wireless - going mad?

I have a crazy situation that I can't explain. I'm hoping someone here can confirm that I'm not going mad.    I purchased an Elk 6022 wireless sensor along with some wired garage door sensors to wire to the 6022. The 6022 has one magnetic reed switch, but also two wired ports for external...

    Questions on ELK-6022

I'm installing a 6022 and am having problems with the external loops. Similar application on garage side and overhead doors. The built in reed works fine, but the garage doors are not. My overhead garage doors are connected via 12'-15' of 22 gauge wire. Where in the design specs does it say the...

Need thermostat replacement for HAI Omnistat

@Work2Play, I appreciate the recommendation.  Because this is a vacation house, I don't have internet or Wi-Fi. I'm sure the Ecobee is great, but not going to work for my application.    @viroid, I also found that information on Elk's web site.  It fails to mention WHICH communicating...

Need thermostat replacement for HAI Omnistat

I did not mention earlier, but this Omnistat is installed in my vacation home, not my primary residence. When I bought the house, I replaced an existing ADT burg alarm with the Elk M1G + Omnistat.  It's been a great solution for the past 9 years. Obviously, I'm not there all the time, and I use...

Need thermostat replacement for HAI Omnistat

I'm a homeowner an Elk M1G installed myself in 2009, with the serial interface and HAI Omnistat thermostat. Recently I had the 30 year old furnace replaced, and coincidentally the thermostat stopped working. The furnace contractor confirmed it stopped sending the call for heat to the furnace...
