I am looking for a cost effective pre-amp/audio zone controller. The Xantech ZPR68-10 is perfect for my needs but is much too expensive (street prices in the $850 range).
What I need can take:
o 4+ line-level audio sources
o 6+ line-level audio outputs
o controllable over RS232...

I don't suppose you know the protocol for the volume control so I can connect and control it directly? ;)
I also found this digital volume control, and also would love to just communicate via the Cat5 to the control directly.

Re: RadIO. Cool technology, uber expensive relative to the $20? dimmer I was hoping to find. Most importantly, I am trying to keep PCs out of the primary "control" loop.
