Setting up network (and phone) for small church.

Trendnet access points were mentioned to me.  Something like the TEW-653AP http://amzn.com/B0035PS55O would be similar in price to Unifi.  How would they compare?  The specs seem similar at first look.  And maybe a Trendnet web smart POE switch would be sufficient (if they even need a smart switch).

Setting up network (and phone) for small church.

I'll check into Grandstream, looks interesting.  Can you block (or allow) long distance calling from certain extensions with these?   The current cable internet is 30down/4up.  Possibly go to 40/10 as price isn't much different.   I don't know if they would get into internet streaming, probably...

Setting up network (and phone) for small church.

Our church (of about 100 now) has taken over a former public school building.  And looks Im tasked with setting up their network.  The building is about 20,000 sq. ft single story with block walls, getting cable internet/phone.  Sounds like they're interested/wanting wifi, and want to do a...

Sharing internet connection (for remote access)

Im thinking now that the Ubiquiti Nanostation M2 can act as a router....I don't have one in front of me yet or I would know better.....   How much options/control do they have?  Could I plug the WISP into the main LAN on the Nanostation (NS2 mounted on the tower), then the HAM radio into the...

Sharing internet connection (for remote access)

What router would be best (while inexpensive) for DDWRT?  Seems the Linksys WRT54G is the common one, should I be concerned much on the rev. (ram/flash)?

Sharing internet connection (for remote access)

Thanks for the replies, I was caught up in stuff.   I started to look at Netgear smart switches then realized I was looking at switches lol.   So, short of revamping a consumer router, would the EdgeRouter be about the least expensive and be able to see the usage and control (limit) each port...

Sharing internet connection (for remote access)

We have a tower that a ham radio operator wants to use by installing his antenna on top and accessing it remotely via internet a few hours a week.  As well, we would setup wireless high-speed internet via said tower for ourselves (from a WISP).   What would be a good way to setup/share the...

    SVAT CCTV Systems

I think I'll try a 2.8mm lens, it says 105* horizontal then says 105* diagonal...so I think it should give me a good 90* anyway. Maybe I'll get a 3.6mm just in case.

    SVAT CCTV Systems

The thing that's confusing me is the 4.0mm lens on the Aircam specs says 47*, but the 4.0mm on Ebay says 62*, so there must be more to the angle. Looking at it again, the Ebay has an aperture of F2 vs F1.5 on Aircam, so maybe that's the difference?

    SVAT CCTV Systems

The aircam lenses in the specs shows 4.0mm/F1.5 (whatever the F1.5 means?) Im just not sure how much it changes the viewing angle going from 4.0mm to say 2.5mm..... I think the one I linked must have IR filtering, because some other ones from that seller specifically say IR camera...should...

    SVAT CCTV Systems

I was looking at these aircams as well, but the view angle isn't very wide (47*). Can I put in an aftermarket lens, maybe a 2.5mm like this: http://www.ebay.com/...=item3a6b0103f8 Or even a 2.1mm? What kind of viewing angle would they give? Also, would it work at all in low light - a...

    longer range/phoneline ethernet

Have you used Ubiquiti cameras (Aircam)? Are they any good? Or can I use any IP camera on the second port of the Nanostation and power it off the Nanostation's PoE? We would like nightvision, any recommends?

    longer range/phoneline ethernet

If you want to look into it... We'll need 2 nanostation M2's (more for the 2 ports, also make sure there is lots of signal, although probably overkill), 3 nanostation locoM2's, 5 wall mounts, possibly surge protector, and shielded cable....anything else? For cable, how expensive is that cable...

    longer range/phoneline ethernet

I presume I can get the other settings and power levels from the house once they are connected? The 2.4 locoM2's are cheaper anyway. The trees look thin now, but the leaves are not really out yet. Has to go through about 2 trees with full leaves. So using the ATA for QoS would just be...

For surge, Ive seen the Tycon http://www.streakwave.com/Itemdesc.asp?ic=TP-ESP-100POE24 but the POE adapter with the nanostation says it has surge protection....should I do both?
