No good Ideas. Perhaps a battery issue, at least on the sensor that reported trouble? But I believe you should get a low battery warning first.
I did not remove supervision, and still get the 5hr 6min RSSI "0" mentioned earlier. But no more false alarms.
Thanks again for all the input.
I spoke with my AHJ; our township code enforcement officer. He said LV smokes must be monitored. HV do not need to be but need to be linked. I live in southeast PA and he indicated that's the rule in most if not all of PA. My system is not monitored so I...
The response from HAI to EagerTA makes sense. Hopefully HAI is fixing the 5hr 6min "0" anomaly on new receiver production.
My magnets are in proximity of the reed switch, so I know this was not my false alarm issue. My false alarm in Feb 2013 was very similar to what JS19709 posted on...
Thanks for the input and suggestions. I understand what's been provided.
One further question - The OPII uses switched power to the LV smokes and resets them when security is armed. What's the benefit of this vs smokes that are powered separately by 120V AC (with 9V battery backup.)...
Thanks for the update js19707. I have not had any false alarms except the one that caused me to start the logging, back in February of this year. And like you, the logging fills my event log quickly. In my case over three or four days. My 57A00-1 transmitters are about 30' from the...
Does anyone know if something conclusive came from this post. I was monitoring my system and also got the 5 hr 6 min frequency for RSSI=0 on five wireless zones - Three 57A00-1 window transmitters and two zones on a 46A00-1 door transmitter. I started monitoring when one of...
Good question az1324. My standard units are 10 years old and need replacement so now would be the time to switch to LV. I did consider a relay however I want to use the battery backup built into the OPII / Low voltage system instead of having to put batteries in the standard units every year...
My current smoke detectors are standard units powered by AC with battery backup. My wiring is romex 14/2 from the breaker panel to the first detector and 14/3 in series between all other detectors. I want to replace them with low voltage 4 wire smokes and tie them into my HAI OPII. I am...
I'm likely going to do this with a Russound amp and locate it near my controller in the basement. With my house it won't be too much trouble to get source feeds to the Amp and it will be an easier location for running speaker cables. Russound power is sufficient and more than HAI hifi amp...
Thanks for the suggestions Work2Play & Wuench. Both of you are saying that locating that amp near the source usually helps with install and ongoing maintenance, so I'll give that careful consideration.
I'm planning to install an 8 zone whole house audio amp (brand/model to be selected) integrated with my HAI Omni Pro II which is in the basement. I'm assuming that any input panel for the Omni will allow me to control the whole house audio, so I'd add more of these inputs as needed. I have a...
My CV modulator is a C0301. It's basically an E1200 on a panel mounting board. It handles one input and has a switch for modulating to antenna or to cable TV. CV also makes modulators that handle several channels.
I'm doing something similar. I'm taking the output from an Everfocus DVR through a Channel Vision modulator to two TV's. Wiring is RG6Q. I'm planning to combine the signal with my antenna signal. ( it should also work with cable tv or satellite if you have the correct modulator).
