That IRA-3 sounds like exactly what I was looking for. Now, is there something like that that can convert the IR signals directly into Z-wave signals? I guess it would need to understand what it is converting to and go to the HA controller first, which in my case will be my WHS running also my...
yeah, right now I just want to get something cheap to keep everything together, even if it means some programming. In the beginning I don't need a nice GUI. I just want to start of slowly and cost effective. I'll look at those software suggestions you have made.
A few months ago I was looking...
oh and one more thing...
6) I have Wayne and Dalton iDrive Garage door openers and have been trying to figure out how to tie those into my HA network. I know that Wayne Dalton are getting in the whole Z-wave stuff haven't been able to find out how I could tie those into my network and monitor...
Ok, after 5h of internet research my brain is smoking, just have a few simple questions:
1) Where can I find a IR to Z-wave module, so that when I use my Harmony 880 to run the Watch TV macro, it would also turn on a few Z-wave lamp modules to a certain dimmed position.
2) What is the cheapest...
I think that's exactly what i'll do. My plans are forced to slow down a little though due to the unstable situation in south east MI and me and my wife working for automotive suppliers right now!!!
hope you guys had a good webinar!
That looks nice. I still can't decide what automation software to go with...
I won't be doing any email checking or downloading with it. Maybe AVG will run on WHS...
I guess now I just finally need my server PC first. I think I'll order all the parts tomorrow and start building next weekend! YAY
Dan,
I have to bump this up again...
I have pretty much everything installed (inlet box, made a whip cord to the generator and ran the 10-3 cable to the panel) now I am a little confused what kind of panel I have and what kind of interlock kit to order.
The panel cover says something HOM...
Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to confirm. I assumed so, but never really was sure...
Do you think it's needed to run an antivirus software on there w/ all of MS's firewall, etc.?
That's another thing I wanted to look into further. I think I'll look at the cases and see what I can find...
I know this might be a duplicate topic, but I can't really find the answers I am looking for!
If I have a media server set up in my pantry with windows home server, can I run control software like QCQ or mControl (etc.) on this PC (w/o any restrictions or downfalls?)? Also, I am interested to...
does it makes sense to join the webinar if I haven't worked with QCQ yet and don't really have any questions yet, but would like to start getting familiarized with it?
I agree, bottom line is that I want it to be properly installed, that way I don't have to worry about it. I guess it is going to kill anybody to move some circuits around to that side. I just wanted to make sure I understood 100% what I am doing!
