Hi Dwalt;
Thanks for that information. Yes, Tyco does own DSC. I guess I'm up a creek trying to connect my ELK M1G to it then. Unless there is some sort of a Bridge available that translates it all. Although the PPT I saw on this PowerManage did show a DSC- SurGard connecting to the PowerManage...
Greetings;
I'm sitting in Colombia, where ELK is virtually unknown, but DSC is very popular.
Our gated community has a brandnew Johnson Controls PowerManage alarm monitoring station. Since ELK is unkown, the first reaction from the technician was " it won't work with the monitoring station"...
Hi @LarrylLix ,
That's useful information and confirms my experience.
Unfortunately I triggered on the previous post and started converting.
95% of my IoT devices are stationary. In fact they are Sonoff/Tasmotas, which reside within 2-3feet of my APs (all controlled load wires lead to...
Thanks for the information @ano .
Just like you, i live outside the city, but my neighbors are mostly cows. And they don't have wifi, it seems. I just scanned my area networks and only one neighbor's 2.4&5g shows up. All others are mine. Where I am at one extreme of the house, one SSID is at...
Thanks for the reply. Will try to move to single SSID...
Just checked for a ruckus AP on Amazon, Ruckus R750 Wireless Access Point https://a.co/d/hJrLjmD. $1,800!!! That's more than 20x a Netgear or Ubiquity....
Thanks for that information @pete_c .
Any comments on whether I can use tue same SSID name across all 5 APs, with out confusing all of my devices? When I initially installed the system, it was set up with a single SSID name , but it ran very unstable. Made many changes, including upgrading from...
Greetings from Colombia.
I haven't posted for a while, because all was working well. My ISP even 20x'ed my fiber connection without asking for a penny more. And that, considering they haven't raised prices in 5 years!
Anyway, i have about 100 Sonoff/Tasmota switches running off a UD ISY/Polisy...
Hello RAL,
The previous panel had Area 6 (camera triggers) defined, but didn't have a zone assigned to it. So I'm somewhat puzzled as to why transferring this database to the new panel would cause it to refuse to save it in such a weird way...
Lesson learned: make sure each area has at least...
Follow up on the AREA problem.
Here's what I was told by ELK:
"Assign one Zone Definition 16 Non-Alarm, Type 2 – Normally Open and retest"
That worked. The whole panel is up and running again!
Hello RAL
Here's what I ended up having to do to get the system to stop sending me inexistent zones:
1- reboot the system with a G45-99 command from the keypad.
2- power down and power it back up, including all the M1XIN's.
3- upload the database to the system.
Now the phantom zones are...
Hi @Ral,
Yes, that is correct. Right-clicking to remove #11 seemingly works, until I do a check or i log off and log in again. Then the #11's zones show up as a conflict...
The reverse happens with the Areas. I add Area 6 and send it to the panel. After a log off, it's not here any more...
Greetings;
I recently had to replace my M1 Gold and M1XEP. 5.3.10 and 5.0.46 respectively. RP is 2.0.40.
Once I received the new units, I updated the SN in the M1XEP, found the new M1XEP IP and uploaded the DB to the panel. Initially it didnt want to receive all of the data. I didnt think much...
Thanks RAL.
I'll have to dig into how to disable telephone reporting. From the keypad to boot! I'm guessing that is a default setting, which I would not have changed.
Maybe the ELK is trying to report by telephone that the RS232 isn't working anymore?
I did look at the event log on my touch...
Hi RAL;
- I don't have a phone line connected to the unit at all. The M1XEP is handling communications.
- The FIND MAC ID and the label match. (and yes, I did have that funny ID problem in the past on a different system)
- I don't have a USB-232 dongle, only a USB-485 dongle. will need to...
Greetings;
Something weird happened while I was overseas. I stopped being able to access the M1 remotely.
When I came back home, I noticed that the ELK wasn't communicating with my ISY994 anymore either.
ELK communicates via IP (M1XEP), not POTS.
Normal behavior:
- all dry contact...
