I currently have a Lorex 8 Channel ECO DVR but to properly cover my property, I will need around 10 cameras and so I am looking for a 16 channel DVR. Requirements would be:
1) Support 16 analog cameras
2) Ideally would have alarm inputs to trigger actions (emailing pictures for example)
3) Higher quality recording than my Lorex (which I think only records something like 320 TVL with 8 cameras)
4) Accessable from remote by iPhone/Android - with a relatively high quality app that hopefully supports reviewing recorded video from remote. The Lorex app is horrible.
5) Something secure. I know there was an exploit that allowed hackers to gain access to certain DVRs and from their gain access to the local network.
Does anybody have any recommendations? There are a lot of DVRs out there but very few reviews, especially on 16 channel units.
