2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid goes 1445.7 Miles on ONE TANK OF GAS

what they didn't mention is that the tank can hold 100 gallons of gas... (kidding)

i haven't watched the video (at work), but did they go 35 mph the whole time? if you do that, you could get 60+mph out of a prius, but that's just not the way people drive.

EDIT: did a quick rough estimate based on initial post. 1500 miles / 3 days of driving = 20.8 mph. that would turn my 5 hour trips to arkansas into 15 hour trips (or longer, since i go 70-ish instead of 60-ish).

Exactly....

"eco-driving"... that kind of stuff doesn't cut it on Dallas freeways. either you're going 70 mph or your pissing everyone off by causing a major traffic snarl.

Eco-driving or the more "advanced" hypermiling isn't just about going slow. Some things that are done can be a little illegal. Trailing close to a semi or other large vehicle, shifting to neutral, over inflating your tires, avoiding stops (or rolling through stop signs), timing traffic lights, etc.

Or... You are driving 10-20 mph because everything is jammed up. Wonder what kind of mileage you'll get then - like 240 gph?
