4 Switch Wiring Help

I have a 4 switch application in my house. I am using a HA14 Intermatic switch via Z-wave. I have tried every wire combination I can think of with this switch, and tried it in two different areas (first switch an last switch). I am able to turn the light on and off with the HA14. I am able to turn the light OFF with any other switch, but unabe to turn the light ON with any switch but the HA14. The wiring diagram for the switch shows an "additional wire" in a 3, 4 and multi application. I am not sure if this is one of the travelers or a separate wire I am supposed to wire. If it is a separate wire that might be the cause, if it is one of the travelers I swear I tried all 12 possible combinations to wire this stupid thing. Any ideas?

David,

The blue wire of the HA14C must absolutely be connected to the lighting load (via additional wire if necessary).
The red wire is used to sense if any of the non-Z-wave light switches have been toggled. The chain of 3 and 4 way switches must be connected to the same wire that the blue wire is connected to. The additional wire is generally not one of the existing traveller wires and you may need to pull a new wire for this installation.
