A Single Doorbell Detector Will Suffice!

Hi I have a question. Can the circuit board of Elk-930 be shrinked down to 1-1/7.5" in width by ~2.05 inches in height? Okay, I'm a "math-freak" but what I mean is, is it possible for Elk to develop just a single doorbell detector that will fit inside the doorbell receiver?

I may not expect to fit the doorbell detector inside the wireless doorbell receiver, even though it's 5/8" in depth due to capacitors, but I might try it; otherwise, I might have to build a small cardboard box that will house the wireless doorbell receiver. But with Elk-930's current size of 3.4"/2.75", it won't fit at all due to the battery being so thick and that the other two detectors will have no use, which wastes unnecessary space.

Does it really hurt to develop such a product?

(I'm off to take my beginning C++ final exam tonight, even though I know Microsoft C#/VB.net very well.)

Mine has the sections between the detectors scored. You can berak them into 2"x1 1/8" sections. Though you still may have a Door Bell and Phone Detector left over.

You most likely know this; but the detector can be put anywhere the bell current can be run through the board and the board triggers a PF284. It also uses the PF284's dry contact source voltage to power it. When triggered it shorts the input pins and triggers the PP284 or your ELK Panel.
So if you are using it on another device it needs some voltage from the devices inputs to work. I know mine did not work with a WGL PF8 8 Input Power Flash device. Since it is made for your ELK panel this should not be an issue.

Mine is in the cellar and uses the common power transformer lead. Thus both my front and back door buttons ring a X10 Chime Module.

The ELK may not work in your Zenith; as it is designed to detect the current flowing from the bell transformer to the bell itself. Through a small value resistor.

Well I doubt it. As it senses the electrical current draw of the bell supplied from the transformer. ELK says that the minimum current needed is 900 ma or .9 Amps. It is made to be connected in series with one of the supply leads and the output to an ELK Panel or in my case an X10 Powerflash.
